@SpaceRumsfeld And lesson learned. Defend Hawaii (and the fleet) as your first and most important priority. Just do it.

@markherman54 Also if you google for “GMT Churchill Rules” the first hit is a link to the original rules hosted on the GMT. Also boardgamegeek. Probably the reason o never realized there were second edition rules.
English

@markherman54 Ah, that makes sense. In your experience do people often misquote the second edition rule? It seems quite clear. I’d think most of the “misquoting” is from diligent careful readers.

Churchill Broken Alliance victory where Churchill’s 47 VP exceeds the US/USSR score 46 by one VP allowing Churchill (high score) win. This is the most misquoted rule where it is said the person with the second place score wins. Only if first cannot beat the combined scores.

How is this game still sub-500 orders? It's a multi-game pack that includes Stalingrad AND Guadalcanal AND Gazala! This feels like the perfect accompaniment to @markherman54's recent C3i battle games. Come on people.

Tried #ThroughTheAges again, two-player, easy AI — won by 7 — but still have no real idea what I’m doing or why I won — will try again soon.

Not a clue what I’m doing in the well-regarded #ThroughTheAges — against easy AI — will have to fix that.

Trying to beat Mrs Thatcher’s War. Fourth serious try. This particular game is mostly going well, EXCEPT for the clear weather on turns 7, 8, and 9, i.e., no landings at San Carlos yet. And now, live, the weather roll for turn 10 ... 7 means rain ... a little hope remains.
