@Claytoncyre and its written for them in volumes, yet they choose to re write it... as if they do a better job at the story than Jack Kirby or Tolkien

@DonaldBergin2 Yeah, that's definitely a big issue, but also the writing these days is horrible. Even when they have perfectly written script to draw from, they ruin it. It's astonishing how consistent film and TV have been at this lately. Just a handful of exceptions in the entire market.

@SandyofCthulhu almost anywhere in The Pacific Northwest, especially Oregon where you have so much variety from Desert to Mountains to coastal and coastal mountains and many unique sites like Crater Lake

I thought this was super interesting. The USA is huge and varied so our spooky things are regional. Desert monsters in the southwest, swamp monsters in the southeast. Frozen forest monsters in the north. What is your home state’s or nation’s favorite place for spooks to hang out?

The Korean Peninsula is roughly the size of the UK, but about 70% of it is covered in mountains. This shaped our folklore: instead of getting lost in 'forests,' our stories happen while travelers are crossing high mountain passes to get from one village to the next.

@DonaldBergin2 We can not. Anything else in this era will be crap like the Amazon show. It's unfortunate though.

Combining elements of city building with elements of ecomony always seemed to be a recipe for success, if done right. Think of games like Sim City, the undisputed godfather of the genre, where you start with nothing and slowly but surely grow your city - or your empire in the case of another epic classic from the golden era: Anno 1602 (created by Max Design in 1998). It became a massive surprise blockbuster, both commercially and critically acclaimed. The game kickstarted what eventually turned into a franchise that is still alive today with its most recent release, Anno 117, last year. So, what makes Anno so great? For its time it showed incredible attention to detail: excellent graphics (for a business//strategy sim), the genre-typical and wonderful music, and above all a highly addictive “just one more minute” gameplay - seeing your empire grow through colonization and trade. Military aspects exist in Anno, but they are secondary at best. Other games such as Sim City or The Settlers had a similar vibe: the slow and steady progress, and sometimes just zooming out and looking at what you have created. One of the best games ever - one that just felt full of love for the small things and full of soul.
