Masterclass in hypocrisy from Chris Hipkins. “An independent media is the cornerstone of a healthy democracy” — conveniently forgetting Labour’s $55 million Public Interest Journalism Fund, which shattered public trust in the media.

@saltyreigns @RTnz46 It’s not about Maiki. It’s all about the lies, deceit and double standards of TVNZ.

So let me get this straight… Call female MPs the C-word & you get awarded with the Quote of the Year Award Call an LGBT+ colleague the Fa**ot-word and it’s “an employment matter”. But dare to say that abortion is murder; or marriage is 1 man 1 woman; or that only women can get pregnant; ….and the media will hunt you down. Am I missing something? #medialogic

The tweet of the week This summarises the left
Ani O'Brien@aniobrien

A Labour candidate says his party is about more than “money and profits”. I too once thought this. But thanks to the kind and tolerant left booting me out because I know what a woman is, I have had the chance to reflect on what that means. And I’ve come to realise the left operates politically on the same level as “thoughts and prayers”. They say stuff that sounds good but does nothing to solve any meaningful problems. You see, we need money to pay for our state healthcare, education system, enormous welfare bill, and every programme dreamt up to help people. If we are to continue having these public services we have to pay for them. The left is like a privileged teenager who has no concept of how much their parents earn except to know that when they ask for something it is always there. They have no understanding of the reality that if the money runs out you cant just go to the money tree. I too want our public services to continue but what I appreciate about the right in general is they start from the point of ensuring there is money to do so. They are the parent who takes extra shifts knowing that their kid has to get a new school uniform or something. Of course I speak in generalities and a lot of NZ’s right are actually just not quite as left as the left. But I am sick of this narrative of the left being the kind ones. It is not kind to keep borrowing against future generations’ futures. It isn’t kind to promise the world and deliver sweet F all. Remember Ardern was going to housr all of NZ’s homeless within 4 weeks of becoming PM, end child poverty, and build 100,000 houses? How wonderful! And what happened? How does the saying go? If you’re not a leftie when you’re young you don’t have a heart. If you’re not a rightie in your 30s you don’t have a brain.

The media have become a stand a lone collective organisation that gives advice and opinions to everyone. The PM gets daily advice if not hour advice from media individuals that by definition should be reporting news. The media has become an all time significant cluster

Remember when Chris 'Chippy' Hipkins stood up after Jacinda resigned and said men have a duty to call out misogyny? Fast forward: The same guy suggests National's Nicola Willis needs 'medical help' during Question Time. The same guy who couldn't define what a woman is when asked. The same guy whose Labour team dropped the c-word about female Ministers in Parliament. And now personal stories emerging from his ex-wife. Actions speak louder than performative speeches, Chippy. New Zealand women deserve better than this selective outrage. Leaders should debate ideas, not demean women who disagree with them.

My Grandad was Nga Puhi born in 1920 in the far North. He fought in the 28th Maori Battalion. My dad was born in 1951 one of 14, born and raised in a Nikau hut. All of those siblings made something of themselves, trades and owned their own businesses. My dad still works today after beating stage 4 cancer. My mother was born on Marae in Taranaki, her father was a Scots. Her step dad also fought for the 28th Māori Battalion. She was one of 11. I was the 3rd Grandchild (out of many) go through university. For 17 years before I came home, I had a professional career in 3 different countries. I never once lent on my Māori ancestry at any time. We all as NZ’ers have the blood of the world running through us. I will be damned if I sit by and watch these radical assholes run a racial wedge between this country. This is Marxism and its here . This has got to stop.what is happening now was never what happened when I grew up or in my parents time. Just remember when you hear the clowns from TPM and the ilk pretending to speak for “Māori” that’s all they are doing - pretending. There are far more New Zealanders like me, far more “Māori” out there who look at those assholes with as must disgust as these clowns hold for others. They won’t win. New Zealand NOT Aotearoa.

@Suitandtie9999 The most important point here, is that after he insulted her publicly, he laughed at her in front of the media. Hipkins is a horrible man. He doesn't know what a woman is, and doesn't know how to treat a woman. As demonstrated to Nicola Willis...and his ex-wife.

To be very clear: I did not leak a story to the media. Nor do I know anyone else who did. Beware of radio jocks seeking relevance who claim “impeccable sources” and rush out scurrilous claims on national media - without even bothering to approach me or anyone else to ask for comment before doing so. Not even an attempt at “balance.” Who cares if you defame someone in the eyes of the nation without giving them a chance to respond first, as long as you get to breathlessly announce your so-called “scoop” that is in fact literally fake news. I’d expect better from an untrained student journalist working on the primary school newsletter on their first day. I am going to be making a complaint to the Media Council about this outrageous breach of journalistic standards. I dare Mr Hosking to name his impeccable source - because I know for a fact that “he” is full of it. In other more important news, I am happy to report that we had a very good discussion yesterday, our caucus is united behind the PM as the confidence vote clearly showed, 100% focused on serving kiwis in this incredibly challenging time, and winning the upcoming election.

I think the question the polls should be asking is “who do you want as the next Govt,? National , NZF and Act or Labour TPM and Greens” Hopefully that will make people consider carefully their vote.
