I have a 100%iv Dialga with no RoT, so I understand 'In-person Kalos Tour was awful' It was. I'd go as far as saying it's the worst IP event ever put together. I bought a ticket for LA *expecting* more to be announced, and that didn't happen. The takeaway should be as individuals to not book IP events unless you'll be satisfied with what's actually been announced, not with what you've convinced yourself will happen 'There was no need to get rid of Spotlight Hour' Saying there was no need is conjecture. The validity of the change will always be up for debate, and there are likely fringe cases on both ends of the spectrum. Unless we start going hard into repeats (and I know some Pokemon have already gotta repeat Spotlight Hours) the actual pool for new Spotlight hours is really, really small, like psuedo-Pokemon / egg locked / raid locked / regionals / new releases only. I know people are upset about the loss of the bonuses (I hear a lot of discourse on 2x transfer candy) but tbh the bonuses and their impact are really overblown, and ironically 2x transfer candy is imo the worst one anyways 'Niantic shouldn't raid lock new Pokemon, especially first route spawns' Yeah, they probably shouldn't. But just don't raid them or only use your free pass? Don't succumb to FOMO and just wait for it to spawn, like Rookidee. Is it annoying? I mean mildly, but can't say not having a (non-shiny) Blipbug available to me to grind immediate on release is going to ruin my day

@alostgirlmisato @gen1forlifeeeee For me the bottleneck is always XL candy, so I trade things to get XL candy AND regular candy. If the transfer bonus was for an increased chance of XL candy I would 100% save things to transfer

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

i cannot fucking believe pokemon was behind building one of the best AI models lmao 500 million pokemon Go players unknowingly took 30 billion pictures that now power the worlds #1 AI navigation system for 1000 robots. it can pinpoint a location to WITHIN A FEW CENTIMETERS and players had zero idea. the story is insane: - in pokemonGO, people point their cameras at real world places and snap pics with their pokemon BUT that image was geo-tagged and being used to rebuild a live simulation of the world - this simulation was turned into an AI model that robots use to navigate the world (eg to deliver items) - its accurate to within a few centimeters and requires NO GPS. - over 1 MILLION hotspots globally with 1000s of images of the same place in difference angles, weather conditions, quality - its easily one of the richest datasets in the world. niantic (the game creator) literally gamified unpaid data labelling and turned that into a very valuable asset for AI genius.
