@TheStrokeAssoc @guardian So while I'll be starting a new charity role next month, I will take everything I've learned about stroke with me. You'll still see me championing moments to raise awareness of stroke support and celebrating the brilliant teams that deliver change.  🥹🏆🧠📨💪💜

To mark #StrokeAwarenessMonth we surveyed over 1,000 stroke survivors and found over 1/3 could sing better than they could speak after their stroke. This includes Summer, who has shared her story about how singing got her through her recovery as part of our #Sing4Stroke campaign.

We are starting to hear about child deaths as a result of foreign aid cuts. People with cholera are left with packets of oral rehydration salts. Forced to walk in three hours blazing heat to seek treatment in the nearest town. This is tragic and preventable

No one plans a stroke. It comes with enormous physical, emotional, & financial costs. Already, stroke survivors* struggle to access benefits like #PIP - and these cuts will leave more & more families affected by stroke & disability, with less & less. *Cardiovascular disease 👇

Without urgent action, the Government will not meet its target to reduce heart attack and stroke deaths by 25% by 2035. Stroke is preventable, treatable, and recoverable. The Government can unlock this potential by developing an actionable road map for stroke, @WesStreeting.
