Final thought and an easy analogy to follow, if you want to put a political bumper sticker on your car, fine, but if you show up and put a political bumper sticker on a FedEx or UPS truck you’re paid to drive, you’d get fired. That’s the right move. Same with sports.

Several things: 1. Everyone should be able to do whatever they want in their outside work life when it comes to politics. Share your opinions, advocate for whomever you like. 2. When you do politics in your uniform at work, it’s a bad look for athletes in my opinion. It only alienates fans. 3. Attacking a co-worker’s opinion in public on social media isn’t the same as sharing your own opinions. Zero percent chance Dart calls out Carter for introducing Biden or Obama. Zero. And if he did the same sports media defending Carter would have lost their minds at Jaxson Dart.

Never apologize for what you believe. Ever. The people who hate what you believe don’t want an apology. They want to silence and humiliate you, make you grovel. Their motives are never in good faith. Don’t acknowledge them. Double and triple down. If you do, they back down because ultimately they are cowards and the (often) silent majority will support you more than you can possibly believe. I’ve seen it in my own life.
