Here is James Lindsay criticizing @christopherrufo for pursuing the same objectives as Lindsay. Lindsay doesn’t like that Rufo has relied on Burnham as a ‘former Marxist’ - even though Burnham is a totally mainstream dead NR guy. But Lindsay can’t even remember Burnham’s name.

@SmallMetalOwl @politicalmath I've read fascinating articles about how you don't move up in Google by improving existing products. You move up by introducing new ones. This is course leads to their trademark overlapping, abandoned, under-featured, and reinvented products.

@politicalmath “Search, don’t sort” boy did they mean that. It’s still my biggest gripe with Gmail that they refuse to implement any kind of sorting to this day.

@jsolomonReports Collecting citizenship data could strengthen compliance and security, but it raises serious privacy and discrimination concerns. Clear safeguards, transparency, and oversight will be essential to prevent misuse or unintended consequences.

Now more than ever....we need the classic 17% FLAT TAX. It would require modest spending restraint by government...imagine that! There would be some family-allowances and non profit allowances. It would boost saving, investment, and work incentives by removing penalties. It would rein in spending and fraud because our government's Federal, State, and Local would actually have to root out fraud and avoid losing money, instead of just taxing us more.

@Scott_Wiener I don't want you involved in a single issue. The trash you push is inevitably the worst possible course of action. You're a walking ratio.

It's crazy watching the moderate left defend Piker. This guy is basically Nick Fuentes of the left but he gets invited to Oscar parties, is objectively evil in very obvious ways, and is not very smart Why circle the wagons for this guy?
Legal Phil@Legal_Fil

Klein's declaration that Piker—an antisemite who also is a racist, defends terrorism, and shocks a dog so that it remains as a prop during his streams—is "not the enemy" was so outrageous that even the Times felt the need to change the title of the op-ed to hide the ball.

In Congress, I held polluters and their enablers accountable. As Governor, I will lead the charge to protect California’s environmental laws—and our people.
Team Katie@TeamKatiePorter

Big Oil companies line the pockets of shareholders with billions in profits each year, in part by shirking their responsibility to clean up old wells. Today, @NRDems and I held Big Oil—and their enablers in Congress—accountable for cheating taxpayers and polluting our planet.

I am suspending my campaign for Governor. To my family, staff, friends, and supporters, I am deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past. I will fight the serious, false allegations that have been made — but that’s my fight, not a campaign’s.

@politicalmath I get that quote-tweeting is simply using the platform as designed. It seems like it's the "circle" part that is the issue. I think they want large accounts to produce something other than just engaging with other large accounts for the "viewing pleasure" of small accounts.

I think I appreciate what Nikita is trying to do there but I just had my lowest payout in a long time so I'm a little nervous that I somehow got caught in this "aggregators" bucket Which, to be fair, I've had an unnaturally slow couple of weeks but also it seems like my reach has been artificially throttled somehow. Or maybe it was previously being artificially boosted, I honestly don't know. But tweets that normally would have gotten 200-300 likes (stuff about movies or shows I'm watching) are coming in under 100. Which, if true, would be really confusing to me. I *think* I'm the kind of poaster that they say they want. I goof off with my friends, posting commentary, jokes, theories about politics and movies, occasionally some actually helpful and original stuff. I'm not an "aggregator" by any stretch of the imagination I have a partnership with Kalshi, but that means that I use their news tweets as a launching point for some observation or a question about the nature of a current event and I always play by the rules. I think that the opacity of the situation is what bothers me the most. In the end, I don't need the money, but it is confusing.
Nikita Bier@nikitabier

All aggregators had their payouts reduced to 60% this cycle. We will add another 20% deduction in the next cycle. It became abundantly clear: flooding the timeline with 100 stolen reposts and clickbait everyday crowded-out real creators and hurt new author growth. The next step is to assign a permanent deduction to habitual bait posters who use “🚨BREAKING”on every post. X will never infringe on speech or reach—but we will not compensate for manipulation of the program or our users.
