This tweet is very misleading. The operator already sent the call to dispatch the ambulance but they do need to know where and what the patient looks like, so they can pick up the right person once they get there. And they can’t instantly arrive once you call them.

Caller: “ARE YOU SERIOUS?!” 911 Operator: Very. Also, how many eyelashes are on his left eyelid? Not the right—focus. Caller: “HE NEEDS HELP NOW!” 911 Operator: And I need answers, ma’am. What’s the mileage on his car? Last oil change? Favorite fast food order? We’re building a profile here. Caller: “OH MY GOD—” 911 Operator: Ma’am, please stop crying and be useful. Does he prefer Pepsi or Coke? Blood type? Zodiac sign? Rising moon?? Caller: “SEND HELP!!!” 911 Operator: I will, as soon as you confirm—does he still have a VCR?
