@bdragoncore I also had a super rare stroke @ 19 that affected my brain so it takes me a lil longer to grasp new things I’m learning especially if it’s technical. I’m sort of learning how I learn best through lots of trial and error. I refuse to give up I want to make it in this field!

Nothing to be ashamed of, it is not easy for me either. I wouldn't say it's a disability, tho. Perhaps your brain is just wired differently when it comes to visual information, and I bet you that just means there are other ways you can think of the numbers without issue, but I don't know what that would be.

I’m using Google Colab for my code and I actually like it! I tried Anaconda and didn’t like it. I love VS Code bc I installed a pet cat that’s exploring a forest into the IDE side panel right next to my code. 🐈‍⬛

@bdragoncore Oh god not math I have a learning disability called dyscalculia and I’m not good with numbers at all now how I ended up here is another story but math is a sore spot for me

When I first started IT. I went on reddit to ask for help on how to get started in IT. A lot of people talked bad about comptia certs. Nothing but negative comments. I decided to ignore them and ask my friends about IT that already worked in the field. I spend countless hours playing counter strike source. That is the only game that I have 14,000 hours of gameplay. I really loved CSS and playing on my old windows xp Vaio machine. I talked to my veteran buddies on ventrilo about IT. They literally stand down with me and gave a clearer picture on different IT roles and certifications. Some of them worked for the department of defense. Some were on disability from the war. I learned a lot from them. I started watching videos on professor messer and Mike Meyers and started studying my comptia a+. Took me a few tries but I managed to get that certification. I failed the exam twice but my CSS friends and family kept me motivated to keep going. I eventually got hands on experience using virtual machines and upgrading machines to windows 7 at the school I went to study my comptia a+. Eventually, I landed a job as a field technician for the department of education. My advice for new folks is try to get your foot in the door. This can be anything from volunteering or doing an internship. Always remember you learn the fundamentals before you go to advanced topics. Everyone starts at zero. Just remember that! Build a portfolio on a medium website to showcase your experience.
