If you work as a tax preparer the issue with Uber/Lyft becomes pretty obvious. At IRS mileage rates, drivers hardly take home anything. We have to train for how to handle *negative* adjusted incomes because of them!

@m0pan_40k Personally! I like to think it's strict, but that escort gun drones can be a loophole. So the drone can be both a projector/translator and also have a pulse pistol just in case. IIRC there even used to be a model for that.

despite making a comic of a water caste saying they don't fight, I'm a believer of water caste tau using weapons on special days... I'm used to people saying tau castes are super strict, I'm a bit surprised to see so many people say otherwise on the comic!

@m0pan_40k Elemental council is great because every time they talk about the imperium it's the rotting imperium.

I don't think they're naive, at least not in that way. they're not going to get existential crisis from seeing bozos older than their entire civilization... they just think it's their time to rise and the Imperium's time to fall. I really enjoy that level of hubris 😇

I assume the dreadnought older than civilization memes (as actual tau slander) are from 'haha naive tau don't know anything' being somewhat popular? memelore among non tau fans the tau being stupid and naive is a popular interpretation of their 'role' in general

@DoorASHkeeper @billlin823 @Nobbie_OCs @mossacannibali3 @bobot073 Point of order, the Damocles gulf crusade failed due the arrival of a hive fleet and the withdrawal of the crusade fleet to deal with it (I.E. GW couldn’t resolve the conflict in any way that made narrative sense) It should also take far more than a squad to down a marine.

If they weren't capable of killing one marine with a squad it'd make no sense that they still exist at all. The damocles crusade failed for a reason, even if it did get pretty close.

@Shpingus_ @Nobbie_OCs @mossacannibali3 @bobot073 That's fair. It's definitely inconsistent, and people constantly joke about how the side that wins is the side the author is writing for. Ceramite is defeated by pulse rounds or they bounce off harmlessly depending on if the marine is named or not.

@DoorASHkeeper @Nobbie_OCs @mossacannibali3 @bobot073 If that were the case then something would’ve put the marines down millennia before they encountered the T’au - probably the eldar. My problem here is just woefully inconsistent power scaling frankly, which is a problem with black library as a whole.
