Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing criminal industries in the world. Behind the suffering of victims are networks that profit from exploitation while remaining largely hidden. Disrupting trafficking requires awareness, accountability, and collective refusal to ignore what is happening around us. Our Call to Action to You: Support policies and organizations that disrupt trafficking networks.

Human trafficking occurs in all 50 U.S. states. It exists in places we pass every day: neighborhoods, businesses, highways, and online spaces. The belief that “it doesn’t happen here” is one of the greatest protections traffickers rely on. When we accept that trafficking can exist within our own communities, we move closer to protecting those who are most at risk. Our Call to Action To You: Understand that trafficking can occur locally. Awareness begins at the community level.

An estimated 27.6 million people worldwide are trapped in situations of forced labor or forced marriage. That number represents millions of interrupted lives, children denied safety, adults denied autonomy, and families torn apart by exploitation. Human trafficking does not discriminate by geography. It flourishes anywhere vulnerability exists and where silence allows it to continue. Understanding the global scope reminds us that this is not an isolated issue; it is a shared human responsibility. Our Call to Action to You: Learn the global indicators of trafficking and help others understand the scope of this crime.

Human trafficking is not an abstract issue or a distant tragedy; it is a profound violation of human dignity that affects real people with names, families, and futures. Behind every statistic is a human life shaped by coercion, fear, and loss of control. This month, we invite our community to pause, to learn, and to look more closely at a crime that often exists just beyond public awareness. Awareness is not passive. It is the foundation of prevention, protection, and change. Our Call to Action to You: Follow this page and share this series to help spread awareness throughout January.

As the holiday season draws to a close, families of missing loved ones carry hope forward, sometimes quietly, sometimes painfully, but always faithfully. At A Voice for the Voiceless, our commitment does not end with the holidays. We continue the work, the advocacy, and the support into the new year and beyond. Thank you for standing with us, for remembering those still missing, and for helping ensure that no one is forgotten. Hope remains. The search continues.

To the Families Still Waiting To the parents, partners, children, siblings, and friends navigating this season with unanswered questions, we see you. Your strength is not measured by how well you hold it together, but by the love you continue to carry despite the pain. It is okay if joy feels complicated. It is okay if the holidays feel heavy. You are not alone in this season, even when it feels that way. We remain committed to standing beside you, today and always.

Awareness Is a Gift That Costs Nothing During the holidays, communities gather, travel, and reconnect. This also makes it a powerful time for awareness. Sharing a missing person flyer, taking a moment to look at a face, or speaking a name aloud can change the course of a case. Awareness does not require money, only intention. This season, consider giving a gift that matters: attention, compassion, and visibility for someone who is still missing. One share can make all the difference.

An Empty Space That Never Leaves For many families, the holidays are a painful reminder of who is missing. Birthdays, traditions, favorite foods, and old memories all resurface. The absence becomes louder when everything else feels festive. Today, we acknowledge that grief and love can exist alongside holiday decorations. One does not cancel out the other. If you are holding space for someone who is missing this season, please know; you are not forgotten, and neither are they.

MISSING & IN NEED OF HELP!! PLEASE SHARE!! A family is searching, a community is hoping, and we are asking for your help. Benjamin “Tyler” Hensley has been missing from the Whitney area of Spartanburg, South Carolina, since December 17, 2025, around 3:00 PM, and there is growing concern for his safety and well-being. Benjamin is 6'1", approximately 230 lbs., with reddish-brown hair, brown eyes, and a mole on his forehead. He was last seen wearing an army green jacket, a Bass Pro Shops shirt, and gray sweatpants with paint stains. He was barefoot and appeared confused and disoriented when he disappeared. He left without his phone or keys, which increases the urgency of finding him as soon as possible. This community has consistently demonstrated that when someone is missing, we stand together. If you live in or around the Spartanburg area, please take a moment to check security cameras, porches, sheds, fields, wooded areas, and anywhere someone may have sought shelter. Awareness saves lives, and your share may reach the one person who knows something. If you have any information, no matter how small it may feel, please contact: Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office 864-503-4500 Case # 25120822 Please keep Benjamin and his loved ones in your thoughts. Sharing helps bring people home.

The Holidays Are Not Joyful for Every Family As the holiday season begins, many homes fill with lights, music, and tradition. Yet for families with a missing loved one, this time of year often carries a profound and quiet grief. There is an empty chair at the table. A stocking that remains unfilled. A name that is spoken softly, so the ache does not overwhelm the room. At A Voice for the Voiceless, we begin this season by acknowledging those families. We honor their strength, their endurance, and their unwavering love. Hope does not disappear during the holidays, it simply takes on a heavier form. Today, we hold space for every family still waiting.

On a day meant for togetherness, we are deeply aware that many families in our community face this holiday with an empty seat at the table. Our hearts are with every parent, partner, and loved one waiting for the person they miss so dearly. We are profoundly grateful for the families who continue to hope, for the volunteers who give their time without hesitation, and for every person who shares a flyer, a post, or a prayer. Your compassion brings light into places where it is desperately needed. Today, we honor the missing, stand with those who are searching, and remain committed to bringing every loved one home. Wishing peace, strength, and warmth to all this Thanksgiving.

Alice Wong became a disabled ancestor yesterday. Alice made the complexity of disabled experiences visible to the world — our joy, rage, and ferocity. She expanded our movement and the minds of millions. We are devastated to lose Alice, and lucky to have been changed by her.

💜 As Domestic Violence Awareness Month comes to a close… 💜 Let’s remember that awareness is only the beginning. Survivors still need our voices, our compassion, and our action; tomorrow, the day after, and every day after that. The fight to end domestic violence doesn’t end with the calendar. It continues in every conversation we start, every survivor we support, and every community we help make safer. Together, we can build a future free from violence. 💪💜 #EndDV #EveryDayCounts #DVAM #SupportSurvivors
