Michael Keane had some lucrative contract offers in the summer, and at the age of 32, you would not have begrudged him signing a long term contract elsewhere. It’s not always been plain sailing for the defender, but his fondness of the club and his commitment to continuing at Everton can not be underestimated 🔵

James Garner spent an hour playing darts with local kids at an Everton In The Community event designed to help their numeracy and maths skills. #EFC do transformative work in the community. “It really is the People's Club,” Garner says. 📸Tony McArdle/Everton FC. @EITC 🎯

Bit weird that the handball rule for Everton is different to every other team.

Jordan Pickford. Signed for Everton as a 23 year old with 1 year of top flight experience. He's played 300/311 League games since... now sits 22nd on their all-time appearance list... been named as their Player Of The Year 4 times... and played a key role in multiple relegation escapes. All whilst developing into England's best goalkeeper this century. What a phenomenal servant to the club and a richly deserved new 4 year contract!

Jordan Pickford has to go down as one of Everton’s greatest signings. And they’ve had many: Dixie Dean, Alan Ball, Alex Young, Southall, Reid, Ferguson, Cahill, Baines, Coleman, amongst others...Everton fans will know best their greatest. Pickford, 31, is right up there for loyalty, longevity and consistency. Total commitment. His training is phenomenal; throwing himself around session after session with all the enthusiasm of a teenager, leaping up, getting the follow-up as coaches ping balls back at him. His dedication brings reward on match-days: 900 saves for Everton in 300 PL games, stopped 8 of 36 pens. Made 326 appearances since his £25m move from Sunderland in 2017. Now signs a new four-year contract until end of June 2029. He’s not changed. Still down to earth, still obsessed with keeping the ball out of the net. #EFC 🙌

Would love to know what makes Pope an “objectively better” goalkeeper than Pickford. Expected goals prevented since 22/23 Pickford: 12.8 Pope: 4
James.@afcjxmes

Here’s what I’d go for: • Pope is objectively a better goalkeeper but Pickford is and should be England’s #1. He steps up when it matters. • MLS continues to be England’s best performing (and most natural) LB. Until we see otherwise I’d have him there. • When fit these are our best CBs, easy. • Trent hasn’t been himself this season and Reece has been really good. • Rice. • Anderson has genuinely been a revelation. Been watching him closely this season and he’s performing at such a high level. Will be bought by a big team soon (I have a weird feeling Chelsea will try). • Bellingham vs Palmer is hard but I just think JB nudges it and Palmer would be a better option off the bench. • Rashford vs Gordon is a toss up so I’d go based on form and for that Rashford has been slightly ahead this season for me. • England’s most important player. If he’s at full fitness for World Cup 2026 then we’ve got a chance. Saka, obviously. • Kane, simple. Get him the ball around the penalty box and he will score. #ad

It’s about time the likes of @LeeDixon2 Danny Murphy and so many others in the national media put some respect on Pickfords name. He’s done nothing to warrant this stupid, lazy, unfounded agenda against him. It’s bizarre and frankly a bit weird.

@HLTCO His stats in the premier league outway any other goalkeeper in the league for saves per match clean sheets and several other areas since any of them have been in the same league!! Playing for an Everton side that has suffered due to current financial restrictions and nothing else

@HLTCO Honestly you’ve got a sub par midfielder who didn’t make it to the England set up more than a handful of times saying that Jordan Pickford who has taken England to 2 finals and a semi in the last 3 international tournament isn’t elite?

The England wall! 🧱 England haven't conceded in any of their last seven competitive fixtures, which equals their longest ever run of clean sheets in such games. They previously kept seven in a row between October 1988 and October 1989 under Sir Bobby Robson.
