Martin, the framing of this is completely unfair, untrue and favours your own political party. Last night we won 3 by-elections, including an impressive gain from the Liberal Democrats.

MAY 7th: A DISASTER FOR THE RED & BLUES? Another hammering for Labour last night, with Tory vote also collapsing, this time in N Lincs With Reform to the Right, Greens/Plaid to the Left, will we soon see a huge, historical reset of the political system?

Starmer seems to have deployed his elite bot team on Twitter, and it's hard not to conclude that it's not just Rachel Reeves who wastes money on low quality services.

Turns out Starmer, Reeves, and Miliband are price gouging at the petrol pump so they can subsidise the energy bills of those on benefits. More the Welfare Party, than the Labour Party…

I’ve long believed in the power of procurement. It can strengthen Britain's critical industrial resilience as part of what I call 'securonomics'. And applying a new 'public interest test' for contracting decisions will strengthen our public services. theguardian.com/business/2026/…

🚨 REFORM CAN’T EVEN GET THE BASICS RIGHT 🚨 In a rush to push out candidates, Reform UK now has a new NHS worker candidate posting campaign material in uniform — clearly against National Health Service rules on uniform use. Respect to the profession — absolutely. But dragging it into political campaigning like this? Come on Reform… this is low. ⚠️

Gone is the cuddly notion that the Greens are tree huggers. We see them clearly now. If your kids are being drawn towards this party you need to have a conversation with them and quick.

Daily Mail journalists aren’t going after your family (as you are aware, there is more we could write if we were). I’m a freelance journalist who spoke to your family members who are frightened by the Jew hate in your party. They are frightened by what you have given the green light to. While you once fought Jew hatred, now you indulge it because, as we both see, it is popular. Other political groups have discovered this in the past. Shame on you @ZackPolanski Shame on you.
Zack Polanski@ZackPolanski

This is why Daily Mail journalists are going after my family now. The right wing propaganda machine will not work on the Green Party. We're ready to end Rip Off Britain, end the cost of living crisis and make hope normal again.

Not sure why many in the media are saying it's 'far fetched' that McSweeney would lie about his phone. This is the bloke that hid over £700,000 in Labour Together donations to Keir Starmer, Another act of corruption Labour have got away with.

I am a Conservative candidate in the local elections and my campaign is 💯local Reform campaign on national issues because they have no policies, no local track record, they don't even have candidates in the ward. Only Farage features on their leaflets. Don't vote Reform!
Henry Bolton OBE 🇬🇧@_HenryBolton

People are perfectly entitled and justified in using the local elections to send a message of anger to the Labour government. But deliberately confusing a call for a protest vote with a vote for governing authority, which is what Nigel is doing, is not a strategy for national delivery. It is a campaigning tactic intended to exploit your understandable anger. It is also false. To suggest that local elections are a referendum on the national political system is manipulative. It is the same as suggesting to you that apples are the same as oranges. Local elections do not impact at all on international treaties or on what happens with illegal immigration and small boats. Those are entirely outside local government mandates. Nigel will imply that voting for Reform in the May elections will increase his authority in Parliament. It will not. You may not believe me, but you will see. Nigel will present the almost inevitable success of Reform in the upcoming local elections as a national mandate and then demand to be treated as the leader of the country in waiting - like a President elect - as though a local election result grants him greater national political authority. It does no such thing. Legally and constitutionally, local elections confer no such authority. They are not some sort of equivalent to the US Mid-Term Elections. Nigel knows this. He is betting that most people do not. Local elections are intended to give you a say in how your area is governed and by whom. They are not structurally, legally or constitutionally connected to national policy issues such as immigration, borders, treaties, defence or foreign policy, no matter how much Nigel implies otherwise. Real leadership does not blur these distinctions, and certainly not deliberately. It does not ignore or misrepresent the constitutional and mandate differences between local and national government. It respects them and works within them to deliver real outcomes. Nigel could do that, but it would require more detail, more clarity of planning, and far more accountability than he is prepared to accept. I am not suggesting you should not vote for Reform. But I am suggesting that you ignore any politician who tells you that your vote will influence national issues or anything other than: - Waste collection and disposal - Local planning and development control - Housing and homelessness - Local roads and transport - Education (state schools) - Adult social care - Environmental health and local regulation - Parks and leisure services

Our salt processing plant in runcorn is going bust due to sky high energy costs so we'll import salt even thou we have a never ending quantity of it. It's totally insane! Net zero is destroying all our industry. Criminally reckless.

I wonder if Hannah Spencer is aware that the Palestinian cafe she just got ‘honoured’ in hosted a celebratory watch party when the Iranian regime bombed Tel Aviv? Green politicians are legitimising some of the WORST people. I feel a bit nauseous. @TheGreenParty

🚨NEW: In the middle of an energy supply crisis, Ed Miliband has just stalled the Jackdaw North Sea gas field project AGAIN. Jackdaw could be up and running in time for winter, producing enough gas to heat 1.6 million British homes. However, Ed’s priority is whether it fits into Net Zero and our international climate treaties. Never mind that we would be using higher emission imports of foreign gas if we don’t use Jackdaw. Imports don’t count in our emissions targets, so it’s a sneaky get around for Ed which will make us colder, poorer and less secure. Bad for the environment and for our economy.
