I never understood the hate for Movie Sonic and his pop culture references. They act like it's all he is. Despite him going into a homicidal rage after Tom is injured and extending an olive branch to Shadow in Sonic 3, people are STILL saying he's nothing like Game Sonic.

I get he cracks a fortnite dance or makes a pop culture reference but for every one of those, you get one of these really like actually touching moments. Thing is the purpose of movie sonic is the same purpose sonic has in the games. He changes everyone around him. (they do it in a different way of course but as far as narrative purpose its the same ball park)
