The marriage gurus say the number one marriage problem is communication. After almost 32 years of marriage and years of teaching couples, I'm convinced that's bunk.
You and your spouse communicate just fine. The problem is sin — specifically selfishness.
If you were both completely selfless, you'd still disagree. But disagreement wouldn't become conflict.
Don't evaluate your spouse. Evaluate yourself.

Every person living in a western nation needs to listen to every word of this
Katherine Berbalsingh went to the University of Oxford and is Headmaster at Michaela Community School in London, UK
She PERFECTLY explains the mass indoctrination into the narrative of oppressor and oppressed, and of hating White People
I will write only some of this out because it’s very important, however you should listen to it so you can hear the passion:
“The culture shift comes from what children learn at school and online. Ask any young person what history they learned at school, and they’ll tell you, Hitler. Ask them what else? Slavery. Ask them what else? American civil rights.
In fact, what little they know of history will be all about Black and brown people fighting for equality against the white man, women fighting men for the vote, gay and trans people fighting for various rights. Our young people have been taught that history is simply one long story about various groups struggling under the oppressive dead white man.
— History is taught through an oppressor lens. The triangular slave trade, white men held the power. What about Britain ending the slave trade? More than a quick mention, if at all? Mm, no.
What of the Arab slave trade that lasted 3 times as long as the triangular slave trade? Mm, no.
Okay, so GCSE history in Britain is often taught as migration through time, so the idea that Britain has always been a land of immigrants is embedded in our children’s heads. Most schools would prefer to concentrate learning about the tiny number of Black people who existed in Tudor England over a thorough analysis of England’s break from Rome.
— Not to mention weeks on King Mansa Musa of Mali because he was a Black Muslim. His bearing on British institutions, laws, and faith is nonexistent. And the fact that he is said to have been the richest man in history, thanks in part to his massive slave-owning society, is a detail somehow that teachers rarely ever teach.
But it isn’t just our schools. It’s our general culture too. Take your kids to a museum or an art gallery in any Western country, and you’ll find the same narrative.
As an example, when learning about aviation in London’s Science Museum and the extraordinary feat that is man making massive machines move in the sky, a write-up on the wall explains that women and Black people were historically barred from aviation schools and the military. Similarly, James Watt, the man who invented the steam engine and is considered the founder of the Industrial Revolution, has a write-up on the wall explaining that his early career involved slave trafficking, with a bonus analysis of the whole of Britain’s complicity in the slave trade.
They flatten the entire human story and all of its complexities into the narrative of oppressor and oppressed, leaving young people unable to see the world in any other terms.”
We have to end the mass indoctrination

Sure, here you go...
Pt. 1: In Daniel 7:13, the Son of Man came upon the clouds to the Ancient of Days. (That, not 7:14, 22 is the point in dispute.)
Pt. 2: I believe "sitting at the right hand" and "coming upon the clouds" are metaphorical. So does the "dismantler." (This assertion is just silly.)
Pt. 3: That logic requires that at the very moment of saying Matt. 26:64, Jesus was sitting at God’s right hand. Is that what the "dismantler" believes to be true? I doubt it.
Pt. 4: I agree that Acts 1:11 does not refer to AD70.
Pt. 5: This commits both the “begging the question” and “appeal to authority” fallacies. As much I appreciate Carson, his views are not decisive.

@DougGoodin I have some elementary notes on this part. Would like to know your thoughts for edits.

"Behold, he comes with the clouds." (Rev 1:7)
Most of us were taught that whenever the New Testament speaks of Jesus "coming," it means the second coming — still future, at the end of time. That interpretive grid was handed to us by generations of preaching, and it's so deeply embedded it takes conscious effort to even question it.
I'm asking you to question it.
The key is Daniel 7 — the vision standing directly behind Revelation 1:7. Daniel sees the Ancient of Days take his seat on a throne of fire, millions in attendance, judgment set, the scrolls opened. Then: "one like a son of man was coming with the clouds of the heavens, and to the Ancient of Days he has come."
Look carefully at the direction of travel. The Son of Man comes with the clouds — not to earth, but TO the Ancient of Days. And to him is given "dominion and glory and a kingdom, and all peoples, nations, and languages serve him."
This is not a descent to earth. This is an ascent to the Father to be crowned.
Jesus called himself the Son of Man more than any other title. He is announcing that he is the one Daniel saw. And when he says in Matthew 16:28 that some standing there "will not taste of death until they may see the son of man coming in his kingdom," he means the coronation is imminent — some of his hearers would still be alive to see it.
The Gospels confirm the framework:
Luke 19 — the nobleman goes to a far country to receive a kingdom, then returns to deal with the enemies who said "we do not wish this one to reign over us."
Luke 21 — "When you may see Jerusalem surrounded by encampments, then you know her desolation has come near."
And John tells the seven churches he is their "fellow partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and endurance in Jesus." Fellow partner — a co-participant in what was happening in their generation. If the kingdom were entirely future, John could not be a partner in it. If the tribulation were a future event, John could not be a co-sufferer of it.
The coming with the clouds is Daniel 7 fulfilled: the Son of Man crowned, the kingdom received, and judgment falling on the generation that rejected him.
If that's true, it changes how we read most of Revelation.

How much did you produce this year versus how much did you consume?
Open your screen time report. For most men the honest answer is sobering. There's always another battle to follow online — and none of it produces anything.
"Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, attend to your own business, work with your hands." (1 Thess 4:11)
The quiet life is not the passive life. Men are made to produce.

Three thieves of joy you have real control over: fear, regret, and self-pity.
Fear of people is a snare (Prov 29:25).
Lingering regret changes nothing — the righteous fall seven times and rise again (Prov 24:16).
Self-pity tells you someone else has to fix your life before you can move. That's a lie. You have choices. Make them.
Joy is not the reward for surviving enough suffering. It's a posture, a choice, a discipline. Practice it.

Draw two circles.
The big one: everything you're concerned about — national politics, world events, the culture.
The small one inside it: everything you can actually influence.
Chronic anxiety is what happens when your mind lives in the big circle. Faithfulness happens in the small one: be righteous, do good, love your spouse, train your children, do your work.
The Lord gave you a life to live and a sphere to influence. Live it and influence it.
