I'm so excited to share this work! We combine chemistry and genetics to inhibit mTOR in specific tissues. We hope this will be a useful tool for anybody who is interested in mTOR and rapamycin in aging, immunity, metabolism, and more! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Take a look at my 3 minute Grad Slam talk that I gave a couple of weeks ago! Turns out the hardest part of grad school is summing up 5 years of research in only 3 minutes... #GradSlam m.youtube.com/watch?v=XzCL0h…

Nice review on the role of metabolism in immune cell activation. It highlights how metabolic changes support the energetic and biosynthetic needs associated with activation of different immune cells. jbc.org/content/291/1/1

This just taught me about a really cool method for protein engineering: circular permutation. Check it out! These folks use it to create caged versions of Cas9 that are activated by viral proteases and help restrict viral infectivity. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

It’s always exciting to see drug candidates with novel mechanisms of action move into clinical trials! Hopefully this is just the first of many #PROTAC

Chemical Biology Comes of Age- it's been great to shepherd our academic chemical biology idea from concept to the clinic over the past twenty years. My hopes have long been for #PROTACs to have a clinical benefit for patients. Good luck @Arvinas! globenewswire.com/news-release/2…
