Dallas has the distinction of being a huge metro area without a defining flair. LA has Hollywood, DC has politics, NYC has Broadway & more. Dallas doesn’t have that.
When friends visited, we ended up at a water obstacle course in a nearby town because…what else was there to do?

I loved the friends I made in Dallas—people really did seem nicer there. But it’s atrociously hot, extremely spread out, and has no defining character. I also left within 5 years. You stay there if you have a reason to.

Obama did not run as a centrist. He ran as a critic of the Iraq war with a very populist message. He was more the Howard Dean side of the party, which is why he chose Biden as his running mate.

It’s wild to me that I keep seeing this delusional excuse. It was clear Spirit was doomed in the summer of 2025. Increasing fuel prices didn’t help. But believing Spirit’s major problems started 2 months ago is completely detached from reality.

Spiking fuel prices from Trump’s war was the nail in the coffin for twice-bankrupted Spirit airline. FWIW, JetBlue merger failed because a judge, appointed by Ronald Reagan, said the deal was illegal. Republicans are desperate to shift blame from higher costs hitting families.

Owning a home is not natural, although nearly 2/3rds of US households are homeowners & a little over 1/3rd are renters! Home prices are a social product that vary wildly though time & place! Home prices need to be regulated, along with the right of homeowners to RENT their homes!

Rent is not natural. It is a social product that varies wildly throughout time and place. Not regulating it is as much of a policy choice as regulating it. If you think rent control comes with downsides, you also need to reckon with the downsides of uncontrolled rent.

In one calendar year, the New England Patriots biggest deficit for the past seven years, the offensive line, has been fixed and set up for the next five years.
The Boston Bruins have a chance of having four first round picks between this year and next year. This, with a goalie who is a finalist for the verdina trophy. They also have another goalie who is the two-time reigning , AHL goalie of the year. This, along with a great core set up, spectacularly in the future.
The Celtics are perennial contenders.
Only the Red Sox are a legitimate mess of an organization.

If my only two options to coach the Rangers were Quennville or Bryan Trottier and that hiring Quennville would guarantee me a Stanley Cup, and I would give the job to Trottier every single day of the week.
