I've seen Derby years with 2 incredibly great horses ('89) several with numerous real good horses & other years where I thought the whole field stunk ('09) - this year is the Hopium year. Horses are now so lightly raced & carefully managed. Several of these look quite promising

A Closer Look at Chief Wallabee. This horse is a bit interesting because Mott horses usually need a few starts to develop. Video here: youtu.be/bLdVQCXaWOc?si…

Emerging Market getting a 79 Equibase speed figure for his debut is mystifying stuff.

@petedenk They ran a Stakes Race at 8f and 40 yards on that same card, and the Emerging Market Maiden Race went over a full second faster. It can't be the distance. They cut the race loose.

@DougieSal That 1m 40 yds is the problem. I bet Equibase has a flaw in its distance relationship model.

@DougieSal I am very new to the tournament space so I confine myself to pick and pray on horsetourneys.com but those are fun enough for me. Live bankroll might be too sharp lol

I see all of these betting Tournaments. Am I missing out by never playing them? Which ones offer the best value to play? I'm so bored today that I'm betting Will Rogers Downs.

@davidson1023 Couldn't get my wife to move down there. It was a lot of work and a lot of driving, but I loved it. Had title of Racing Secretary, but was doing TV, Morning Line, draw, and back-checking entries.

Had a fun week on-air at Mountaineer. My top pick swept the final 4 races tonight. Late Pick 4 paid $585. I'll be back next week if anyone wants to watch and listen to my commentary. I had a tough act to follow and I'm trying my best. Really enjoy the racing & people here.

@Racingwithbruno Then Why do the horses who work the fastest at 2yo sales bring the most money?

Workouts for Dummies: You are not Mick Jagger, stop singing Time is on My Side when you handicap. If you only get excited when you see a fast time, it's not on your side. Horsemen don't work for time, they work for fitness and exercise.

You should be allowed to bet-against horses you don't like. You should be allowed to make prop bets with other players. You should have a market open to you if you wish to make in-running bets. All they give you is an outdated system that has been infested with late CAW action.

@DougieSal how does opening up prediction markets (exchange wagering) help increase purse money.

The horse racing industry is run by people who are largely clueless. They have a great opportunity with Prediction Markets and they won't exploit and execute. You could give these people a Keurig, Keurig cups, and fresh clean water and they'd still fuck up a cup of coffee.

@IlsPartis Win-Place-Show betting on a horse race will have tremendous two-way liquidity. Parlay betting and in-game betting is essentially exotic wagering and In-running betting. We don't even have an option for the latter and the current system is just fine for the former.

I love prediction markets, but that is like saying “Uber Rides would be cheaper if we didn’t pay for the gas and driver.” Have you noticed how the rake is increasing in Prediction Markets? It is sometimes 30% now on parlays and in-game “predictions.” #horseracing #Polymarket

Prediction Markets should replace the outdated Win-Place-Show wagering. CAWs would be the major market-making force and provide much of the early liquidity. Retail Bettors won't complain because the system encourages them to move early instead of 3-seconds before the gate opens
