It’s good when central office admin remember what it’s like to work in a school. It’s good when school admin remember what it’s like to be a teacher. It’s good when teachers remember what it’s like to be a student. The students… they’re just trying to get through their day.

Schools do not thrive because of programs or plans… they thrive because of the passionate educators in the building.

While this is not where any of us wanted to be at this time, we understand difficult decisions were made for the safety of our community. DES has an amazing staff who are committed to the success of our students.

Our Peer Helpers all worked together to bring treats to surprise our CNP workers, School Nurses, friends at the Learning Center, and all of the Douglas Campus Pre-K classes. 🎃 🍭🍫

It’s good to have fun at work... practical jokes, inside jokes, corny jokes, music, shenanigans, hijinks, tomfoolery, silliness... and lots of laughing. Colleagues that have fun together, work hard together. And ultimately, it’s a good culture in which students can learn.

Teachers who are excited about their lesson... Teachers who love the kids... Teachers who support their colleagues... These are teachers who not only make a difference for students; they transform the culture of their school!

I like the visual example of each person can help stop the spread COVID 19 through isolation and limiting your contact. To that extent possible be the one that steps out of the chain.
