Was cheering for Fuudo today, and really believed today was the day. Would like to share a (long) story: Fuudo was the co-host of BeasTV, and one of the pioneers of streaming in Japan alongside Daigo in 2016. On one episode, they were talking about their dreams. Everyone had lofty ideas, but only Fuudo had a clear goal - he wanted to open up an izakaya with his tournament winnings (this was during the SF5 era when Fuudo was getting a lot of 2nd place finishes). Everyone argued that he had won more than enough money to open a place, but Fuudo said opening an izakaya with 2nd prize money was not the dream he envisioned - if he wasn’t the champion, the izakaya would have no meaning. I didn’t understand at first, but seeing the determination of someone who was already successful (imo) inspired me. It’s amazing to see him still performing at the highest level 10 years later. I’ve been waiting for Fuudo’s big win, and I look forward to visit his izakaya one day.
