A prominent issue raised by residents relates to the cost of electricity, particularly tariffs charged by City Power. Many residents expressed concern over the rising cost of electricity and indicated that, while they are willing to meet their payment obligations, the current rates are increasingly unaffordable. This concern highlights the broader socio-economic pressures facing communities and underscores the need for the City of Johannesburg to consider affordability, equitable tariff structures, and possible support mechanisms when reviewing pricing policies.
