@69ing_UrMom @martin_wagemann It definitely holds up. As does Kobe. I’m not gatekeeping. I’m saying that kids today didn’t grow up listening to it like people did in the 90s. It would be disingenuous for Gen Alpha kids to act like they grew up listening to it.

@benabeelagain @PlayoffBoundNYK Young Westbrook relied on his athleticism for sure. When he got older and it faded he definitely adjusted

@E_3O5_ And if they ever made a rule in the legal sense for the players to own teams, Steph would be traded the moment he comes close to that contract stipulation.

He has the right idea. This type of thing should be incentivized to keep stars there long term. Players should get to reap what they’ve sown. Steph absolutely should get a stake in the Warriors with all the money he’s made them. Which is exactly why it won’t happen. the moment the league puts an “X amount of years earns you a stake in the team”, you’ll see that player traded the moment that timeline becomes close.

Jaylen Brown says players should be able to own equity in teams because they help increase the value of NBA franchises “Players should be able to invest alongside ownership groups and business opportunities. I don't understand why that’s ever been a thing. It's like you’re an athlete and they make it seem like they can control how much wealth or growth that you could actually accumulate. I think that's wrong” “I also think that any other major corporation, if you work for Apple, Nike or anywhere, if you're a CEO, if you're someone who has been on a board for a large amount of time, you get equity in a company at some point. You are part of it” “I think athletes should be looked at in the same way. You played for the Celtics for 20 years, you should get a piece of equity because you helped accumulate the growth. That's the part that gets lost in translation. The sweat equity you put in. You get compensated for doing your job, but you don't get compensated for the growth. At major corporations and companies you do, or at least some of the big ones”

Odell Beckham Jr. reveals the real math on a $100,000,000 NFL contract: • On paper → $100,000,000 • Actually guaranteed → $60,000,000 • After taxes → $12,000,000/yr • Car, house for mom, living → $4,000,000/yr • What’s left → $8,000,000/yr • Five years. Then it’s over. Forever “Can you make that last forever?”

The Bam Adebayo conversation really goes to show you who watches games, and who doesn’t. The guy who can guard 1-5 and was the defensive anchor for 2 Finals teams is overpaid? Overrated? Yall are just looking at box scores.

@JoshEberley Adam Silvers tenure as commissioner has always been about making more money. Ads on jerseys. Extra games and tournaments. Investors and revenue. I can’t think of something he’s done that’s actually supported a better on court product.

If this Kawhi Leonard trade falls through because Adam Silver spent a year pushing his chores to the side, he should lose his job. You are the boss, you set the deadlines.

Man... Just play the game.... Have fun.... It ain't THAT deep.... #CFB27
Novig@Novig

🚨 NEWS: Major CFB creators, including Bordeaux and MMG, are boycotting CFB 27 and refusing to play until EA changes its new microtransaction system, with #CFBPlayDontPay gaining traction across the community. Here’s what happened: In previous games, players could adjust XP settings to progress faster in single-player modes. In CFB 27, EA removed those options, and now players can pay real money to speed up progression instead. Fully upgrading a Dynasty coach immediately can reportedly cost $100 more than the price of the game itself.

@SportsWithJay0 I mean, when agents can get jobs being GMs and Presidents of ball teams… I think a podcast is pretty mundane.

Austin Rivers ranting about Rich Paul having a podcast: “First of all why don’t have a podcast? I don’t get it, he’s not a player. I don’t know any other agents that are sitting on the mic. You’re an agent which means you’re supposed to be in the background.”
