On Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021, the City of Downey and the Downey Police Department will host the City’s 8th Annual National Night Out celebration from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Downey Civic Center located at 11111 Brookshire Ave.

Graveyard shift officer stopped a vehicle for a CVC violation. The officer located 3 catalytic converters, cutting tools, bear spray, and a jack stand. 3 suspects-from LA, were arrested and their vehicle was impounded. Unfortunately no identifiable markings on the convertor.

Chief Matthew Egan was just announced as Glendora Police Department’s new Chief of Police! Congratulations, Chief Egan!

Today’s Travis Scott appearance at McDonald’s was neither approved nor permitted by the City of Downey. DPD units were dispatched in response to a large crowd gathered and focused on traffic and pedestrian safety concerns until the crowd dispersed. No injuries were reported.
