The Puma is out of the Kentucky Derby this morning with a physical issue. The scratch deadline was 9 a.m. yesterday morning, and by rule no also-eligible horse can get into the race afterward, so Corona de Oro will not draw in.

Wagering from all sources on the full Kentucky Oaks race day card set a new record of $89 million, up 18% from the prior record set in 2024. All-sources wagering on the Kentucky Oaks race was an all-time high of over $29 million, up 29% from last year.  TwinSpires, the official betting partner of the Kentucky Oaks, set a new record of $24 million1, up 24% from the prior record set last year in wagering on Churchill Downs races for the Kentucky Oaks Day program.

Haven't seen any Kentucky Oaks day numbers yet from Churchill Downs, but win-place-show betting on the Oaks itself was up from $8.5 million in 2025 to $10.9 million this year. Exacta and trifecta betting also up slightly from 2025.
