@coldwetdays So true. I need to get addicted to kindness and doing things that satisfy my soul. I can help more people that way.

No better person to shoot it, either.
BeeTee@coldwetdays
I helped shoot the photos for this story.

@coldwetdays So true! We have mental health epidemic in Spokane. But, nothing to talk about…cuz we just spend money on more studies to be sure we are actually sure there is an actual problem. The ignorance and out of touch decision making is numbing.

@citycouncilpaul @numericacu @FirstAveCoffee @VisitSpokane @KinetekMedia @SpokaneCity @DowntownSpokane They are iconic!! Look forward to sharing epic food, baked goods and coffee there!
English

@DoyleWheeler @numericacu @FirstAveCoffee @VisitSpokane @KinetekMedia @SpokaneCity @DowntownSpokane Love the skywalks so stoked!
English

Really stoked to start a new adventure! Spokane’s Skywalk system needs new life. I’ve been saying it for years. So, I am doing it.
We will be opening a new eatery in the Cutter Building, in the Skywalk above @numericacu featuring @FirstAveCoffee’s menu and then some!!

English

@thelocalhistory @DowntownSpokane @numericacu @FirstAveCoffee @VisitSpokane @KinetekMedia @SpokaneCity Will do!!
English

@DoyleWheeler @DowntownSpokane @numericacu @FirstAveCoffee @VisitSpokane @KinetekMedia @SpokaneCity Yesss! Will support you for sure! Keep us updated on opening date.
English

@coldwetdays Agreed. I do hear there are big changes ahead but we would not hear about them till the plan was complete in December. We’ll see. Hopeful that the unhoused people in Spokane get real help and can integrate into society again.
English

@DoyleWheeler I will give leadership the benefit of the doubt that they have no budget to use for the problem at hand. What I am not so pleased about is the lack of transparency.
English

@coldwetdays lol! Thats for sure. Nothing changes if nothing changes. There’s a tent city growing on 4th between Madison and Lincoln. The entrance to our city looks like we have a leadership problem.
English

@DoyleWheeler All I know at one time there were all these people excited to help the problem out but then we had an election and it’s just dead silence. I guess it’s sports season or something.
English

@coldwetdays Yes…even then I still have a lot to learn. There’s a lot of moving parts needing attention. BUT…I know when more people are in downtown enjoying the city…a majority of issues will fix quickly. People move people. More eyes = more visibility.
English

Take a minute to see the colors of golden hour on your city!
There’s a creative spirit that thrives when I see architectural legacy and city planning in real time with the backdrop of nature. Everyday it’s different.
What unlocks your creativity?

Did some quick tasks at @FirstAveCoffee and was surprised with this banger! Spokane’s cityscape combined with nature is epic!!
Show me your perspective of your city?

@OlMofoJones @coldwetdays We see more people gathering and chatting after we shifted our focus on community engagement at First Ave!
We make sure we have the best internet we can provide. Fast for heavy uploads like YouTube or SoundCloud.
Good cafe’s in 2024 have good menus/seating/internet.
English

@coldwetdays @OlMofoJones Agreed! It’s a new era of community!
English

@OlMofoJones @DoyleWheeler I think our texting and social media platforms took that dynamics away. We used to actually have to put effort into connecting with people. I used to draw in my sketchbooks on capital hill in Seattle at a cafe, made a lot of friends that way.
English

@coldwetdays @jaclynbrandt Working in a coffee shop is never like home. I am open to new ideas to make our shop more inviting though! I’d be interested to hear your thoughts or ideas!
English

@jaclynbrandt I work from home as well. My problem is I’ll get excited to go sit somewhere downtown and by the time I get situated in a cafe I think, “my house is more inviting.” Now I just walk to one and grab something to go like I did this morning. Coffee and a scone.
English

@jaclynbrandt @coldwetdays At First Ave we have plenty of seating by outlets. We encourage people to stay as long as they want. We do have a lot of fun and the buzz in the shop is satisfying. BUT we can always do better.
Have you been to our shop yet? I am always open to suggestions or thoughts!
English

@coldwetdays It depends on what you are looking for. I work from home so try to get out most days to a coffee shop and work. I have my favorites (based on availability of seating, coffee, atmosphere). I am surprised by the coffee shops downtown with no seating though. It must work for them?
