What’s funny is after saying this, it hit me that if they put the fastest 10 250s with the fastest 10 450s it would probably be less hazardous with lappers 🤣

Why do we even split the classes if “lappers are part of the sport” ?? Let’s just put 250s, 450s, SMX next, and a couple of fast super minis out there together. Clearly danger isn’t a concern. Let’s campaign for 44 man SX gates ! 🙌🏼🤗

That danger is a chance Im willing to take.
Navigating lappers is a skill that should not be abolished.

1/2 I get the frustrations from both sides when it comes to lappers in SX.. but for EVERYONES safety something needs to be changed. I know everyone that lines up in a main is GOOD on a dirt bike.. BUT there’s still enough of a skill gap that adds unnecessary danger..

Hmmm, @elitomac new solution to moving lappers out of the way ??? May need this in Birmingham! Wonder if Jade has ever worked on a dozer ???

@elitomac Solution for current issue is Blue flag = Red Cross flag for lappers. They must move to far inside and roll jumps while not being allowed to make passes.. if they don’t move, it’s a black flag followed by forfeiting race earnings for that race. Repeat offenders would be suspended

People saying we wouldn’t deal with lappers with if we were all on stock bikes. It’s quite the opposite of the truth. The 450 class is actually easier to be competitive in its current state compared to the 250 class. Want to be competitive throughout a whole season with a do it your self effort on a 250, going against teams with endless R&D squeezing maximum power out of the small displacement. Good luck. On top of keeping engines and race bikes in safe hourly rotation. There’s not a whole lot of light at the end of that tunnel without a blank check. IMO 450 class needs to be non production based, with the baddest works bikes on planet earth.
The beautiful thing about Supercross and Motocross is that skill and hard work will always prevail. And yes that would still shine with works bikes.
Or maybe we just keep everything the way it is, because our sport is pretty sweet. 😉

@versacesavatgy @SMXthots Nah fam you definitely belong. But I do think consideration should be made for short tracks.. maybe have a 15 man gate for those races. Or make a blue flag equal to a Red Cross for lappers. They must roll/not pass until the leaders pass them..
