日本のコンテンツがうまく海外展開できず海賊版にシェアを奪われてしまうの、ぶっちゃけ日本の異常な出版慣習のせいだと思うんですよね。 たとえば今や世界的作家になった村上春樹ですが、実は当初は海外で全く翻訳が売れませんでした。講談社の海外子会社から『羊をめぐる冒険』や『ダンス・ダンス・ダンス』などの英語訳を出したんですが、批評は良かったけどセールス的には大失敗という状況だったんですね。（ここらへんの経緯は村上春樹のエッセイ集『職業としての小説化』に詳しく書いてあります） ではなぜ村上春樹が海外で爆発的に売れるようになったのかというと、村上春樹が自力でアメリカの出版エージェントを見つけ出し自力て契約にこぎつけたからです。村上春樹は英文学翻訳者としてのキャリアで培った英語力と海外人脈を活かして、独自にエージェントと探し、交渉し、契約に漕ぎつけます。そうして初めて春樹の本は海外で爆発的に売れるようになった。つまり「日本の出版社」に頼ることをやめたからこそ村上春樹は世界的作家になったわけです。 ほとんどの日本人は知りませんが、世界的に作家のほとんどは出版社ではなく出版エージェントと契約します。エージェントは作家の利益代理人となり、出版社や映画製作会社などとの契約をまとめ、作品が世に出て商品化するのを助けます。日本以外のほとんどの国ではこれが出版業界の基本的な在り方で、このシステムを前提にして出版産業が作られてる。 一方で日本は出版社が実質的に作家の著作権管理を行います。もちろん出版社の社員は著作権管理の専門家ではありません。普通の編集者が通常業務の片手間にやるわけです。なぜ出版社がこうしたやり方を好むかといえば、コンテンツから得られる利益を出版社が独占できるからです。 たとえば日本の漫画家は作品が映像化されてもほとんど収益の配分にあずかれません。たとえば『テルマエ・ロマエ』という漫画作品は映画化されて60億円の興行収入を記録しましたが、作家に与えられた配当金はわずか100万円でした。著作権エージェントという作家の利益代表者を商慣習から排除することで、大手出版社は莫大な利益を上げてるわけです。 しかし当たり前ですけど、そんなシステムで海外展開できるかというとかなり難しいわけですよ。著作権管理を実質的に担っている日本の出版社社員はもちろん外国語がわかりません。海外の企業とネゴシエーションするスキルも時間もありません。海外子会社を作って現地社員を雇っても上述の村上春樹の例のようにコストばかりかかってうまくいかないことの方が多い。だから「旨味はあるけど出版社のコストが重い」として海外展開は絶大なポテンシャルがあるのに後回しにされがちだったわけです。 はっきり言って、これが日本のコンテンツの最大進出を妨げている最大の理由なんですよ。 日本の作家と契約したい海外の出版エージェントは無数にいるのに、作家を囲い込みたい出版社側がガードしてしまうので直接契約ができない。日本の出版社側としても海外進出することで得るメリットより、海外進出によって作家を海外のエージェントに取られてしまうリスクを警戒する。だから海外進出に積極的になれない。 「なぜ日本の漫画やアニメは海外進出に後ろ向きなんだ？」と疑問に思ってる海外の方は多いと思いますが、これがあまり語られない真の理由です。日本の大手出版社はきわめて特殊かつ搾取的な作家管理のシステムを築き上げており、それがグローバルな契約に晒されることで瓦解することを恐れている。海外の著作権エージェントが日本人の作家と直接契約を結ぶ流れが一般化しないと、今の状況は改善されないと個人的には思っています。

@jackfrui7 @dogfoodforgirls If you are passing priority. Isn't it always something like "okay... Before going to damages, any response?" The one thing i find difficult is that people immediatly try to pass to damages after blockers. As a ninjutsu player you really need to stop people from that.

@dogfoodforgirls I wish there was a good way to say "I am passing priority as the active player on the combat damage step" because that is an incredibly important moment that happens regularly that many people just gloss over

you try to explain how priority works to a pod of casual commander players and u can genuinely feel three people trying to kill you with their mind

My main critique of Secrets of Strixhaven Limited is these two cards. They will appear in most drafts you do but they each create a hyper specific token that isn’t in the set, and arguably was a confusing mechanic in the set it debuted in 3 years ago.

これに尽きるかな。ゲームで言う所のSteamにしても、アニメで言う所のCrunchyrollにしても何にしても、海賊版はモラルの問題じゃない。 そもそも海賊版にしても何にしても「絶対悪」なんてことは殆ど存在しなくて、著作権を絶対視するならYoutubeで流れるゲーム実況も、二次創作される漫画や動画も、何もかもNGということになる。世の中そこまで白黒ハッキリしているわけじゃない。それが現実を生きるということだと思う。 手に入らないから仕方なく海賊版に手を出す、それがキッカケで作品を知り最終的に購入に至るのであれば、Youtubeの一話無料のアニメ回と同様の効果だ、正規で購入出来るルートが全くないのだから仕方がない。Steamを見てみろ、海賊版商法から正規ルートを立ち上げたらこれだけ大成功したじゃないか、クリエイターにとって知られず衰えるのと、知られて繁栄するの、どちらが得だと思う？というのは、ビジネス的観点から見れば筋は通っている。結果、クリエイターが儲かるなら良いという考えだ。 とはいえ、確かに正規ルートを整えて、海賊版から正規購入へ人を引っ張った実績はある。でもそれは結果論で、海賊版がなければもっと早く正規版が広まったかもしれないし、クリエイターにとっては収益が失われた期間が長いとも言える。だから海賊版を正当化する理由にはならない。あくまでパブリッシャーの問題であり、海賊版を良いとしてはならない。これも正直正義だと思うし、倫理観的に正しいと思う。 個人的には日本でアニメや漫画、ゲームを作るクリエイター達に還元する意味で、海外展開は避けては通れない以上、どちらの考えも尊重しながら生きていく他ないと思う。倫理観を前提にしすぎるとビジネスが上手くいかずクリエイターが幸せになれない、ビジネスを優先しすぎると最終的に秩序が壊れ、やったもん勝ちになる。世の中、これが正しい、あれが悪いと断言出来るほど、狭くも簡単でもないんだよなと思った案件だったマル

**TL;DR:** Cute joke, but it's a lie. I'm not trying to pick any fights nor anything, but it needs to be clarified this misconception that westerns don't want to pay for anime, manga or games. This is a complete mistake and we have history already to show this. 1. **Torrent usage** (the main tool for traditional piracy) is at historic lows as a share of internet traffic. 2. People avoid piracy because illegal sites are full of risky ads and poor experiences. 3. **Steam** has seen massive sales growth — reaching record revenue in 2025. 4. Unlicensed software usage continues to drop. Even with more internet users than ever, overall piracy site visits fell 5.7% in 2024 (to 216 billion). Good services like **Steam**, **Netflix**, and **Spotify** have greatly reduced piracy in their fields by offering convenient, affordable access. Manga is a clear exception. Legal options are still limited and often disappointing: - **Manga Plus** is growing but feels incomplete for many readers. - **K-Manga** faces complaints about translation quality and heavy censorship. So far we don't have a good enough quality for easy access and good pricing for the general public. This is why publishing piracy (driven mostly by manga, manhwa, and manhua) rose 4.3% in 2024 — while most other categories declined. Direct anti-piracy crackdowns by big companies have had limited global impact. The strongest evidence shows that **better legal services** are what actually reduce piracy. **Bottom line:** Yes, people want to pay for the services. No, if we have good services, the majority wont keep using piracy, it happened with movies and series, happened with anime and happened with games. Good Service lowers piracy more than any other action we saw in internet history so far. Below there are some other studies, but I didnt get too many of them because I assumed most people wouldnt read. They are not irrefutable evidence that Piracy is dying, but its many more studies showing a trend on what is actually working against piracy, which is good services and easier ways to purchase legal content. Now there are not many other studies saying otherwise. By the way, about your joke meme, if you want to mock westerns, don't put Japan into the "Wojack" position (that character you put the japanese flag), because this makes you look like you are mocking Japanese people yourselves.....

@makro_art Actually. I am not really that big of a fan of anime and manga fan. I mainly read fantasy through Kindle (eBooks), play TTRPG, play MTG. Those are way too many hobbies. But i would say that nowadays i support 80% of what i consume.

@Dozsu2U Crunchyroll sucks and you are right to cancel it. It doesn't support anyone. But surely you realize that you have here one shelf of manga, primarily one series? But if I was to guess I'd say you've read at least 20 series, right? 30? It's good that you support this one though.

@makro_art @autopilotgod I had Crunchyroll for like... three months, didnt likednit. Instead, have spent hundreds on the properties i love, BECAUSE it has been made legally available over here.

@makro_art @autopilotgod Well... This is straight up wrong. Isn't manga black and white because it was cheaper to mass produce initially? Doesn't the shonen jump cost like, three dollars weekly, from which, only a fraction is seen by the author?

@kamosika3 @autopilotgod Though technically yes. When that happens, those plataforms get shut down very quickly. For example, a patreon page that shares illegal copyrighted content would be legally sued. And rightfully so. So, that turns it into a non reliable, bad and dubious service.
