@citizentvkenya it is wrong for Kimani Kuria to dwell on poking holes on Ndindi Nyoro credibility, including his shares, which has no bearing when it comes to fuel prices. It shows that the government is not committed to solving issues that affect Kenyans. #jklive

My brother DBK , we understand how you feel, but many African countries still engage in these practices. In the case of Kenya—particularly Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA)—these measures were implemented during the terrorist threats of 2013 and 2015, when the Kenyan coast was even placed under a non-essential travel advisory by the United States, the European Union, and the United Kingdom. From 2018 to 2020, JKIA also worked diligently to obtain Category One status in order to receive direct flights from the United States. This was finally granted in 2020 after two unsuccessful attempts. Some of the conditions imposed on us included the removal of shoes—a requirement that you detest and which I also find objectionable. However, we had no choice if we were to be declared a Category One airport. Changing this requires a process. If we make changes without proper consultation and approval, the Category One status may be withdrawn. This would mean that Kenya Airways (KQ) would no longer be able to operate flights to New York. This also includes the gate where passengers have to disembark and walk through screening machines and board their vehicles again. Removing shoes at JKIA or even Mombasa may sound trivial, but there are too many factors beyond our control at play. My bro, for now, do loafers , open shoes, and these days, holiday makers walk with simple sandals. For now, don't sweat the small stuff that is not in our control.

Still thinking about KAA’s stupid policy of removing shoes before you board planes in any airport in Kenya & opening bags for inbound Passengers! By the way, none of these is done in any airport in US or Europe or Qatar! Imagine a Billionaire investor coming to invest in Kenya or a tourist visiting Kenya & you open their bags & violate their privacy or asking them to remove shoes & walk bare feet, do you think they will ever return to Kenya? Why is it so hard for @KenyaAirports to end this primitive culture of violating privacy & personal dignity?
