The point of a paleo diet is not to avoid any and all sugar/dextrose/sucralose of any kind, even if it occurs naturally in plant food. The point is to eat whole foods. If you're reading a box at the store and it has "dextrose" in a list of ingredients, that's just a clear signal that it's not a whole food and you should skip it to get the best results. You're thinking of a zero sugar diet like keto or carnivore, which is simply a further restricted paleo diet. That's not what I'm talking about here.
