GPs. How long do urgent plain XRs take to be reported in your area? We seem to be up to at least 6 weeks at the moment in our area. I struggle to get a report expedited even when I email radiology. This makes managing cough with concerning features (e.g. haemoptysis, smoker) challenging to manage.. how can we increase speed of cancer diagnosis when our diagnostics take so long to come back? This affects patient care. This is a further example of the NHS being hit by an insurmountable work load with not enough skilled staff to get through it. A perfect storm. #NHScrisis @VictoriaAtkins @wesstreeting @libdemdaisy @natalieben @mtpennycook @carolvorders @GaryLineker @joelycett

Merry Christmas to all those working in the NHS today Many staff in the NHS are grossly underpaid (even on Christmas day👇) but none more so than Junior Doctors who frequently graduate with >£100k debt RT to support them & ask government to pay them ALL fairly #PayRestoration

The GP workforce figures are out from August and it's not looking good with the NHS loosing the equivalent of 269 fully qualified full-time GPs over the past year. Lets take a look in closer detail.....👀📈📉🧵

"In May 2023 there were estimated to be 27.7 million GP appointments in England. This is around 15% more appointments per working day than in May 2019." Remembers these figures when government tries to blame GPs for their failing to support the NHS. 2/2

2 out of every 3 frontline NHS staff don’t have access to a staff room. We think it’s completely unacceptable for staff to work such long shifts, on their feet, without appropriate rest facilities. Please RT if you agree.

I am the educational and academic supervisor of several junior doctors and I run projects for medical students in my research group. It is frightening how many are taking exams for the US and Canada and how many are applying for jobs in Australia. I have never seen anything like this in my entire career I don't think the government / general population appreciates how soon the system will collapse if they don't address the pay erosion for the junior doctors ASAP

Worried that neither @UKLabour @Conservatives understand this, and its crucially important, not least as mass recruitment without retention would be a huge waste of tax payers money

What is the capacity limit in GP 1.4m appts/day (Current) 40 consults a day per GP (More 25 not considered safe) 1 GP per 2200 (average) Need to protect the staff from burnout as they are currently providing maximum possible with no extra capacity #GPCrisis Blame MPs not GPs

One doctor in the UK dies by suicide every one to two weeks, according to figures by @DoctorsDistress. The situation is worse still among women in the profession. One doctors tells @leylahayes "we don't want to let patients down, but we have to think about our own health too".
