(8/8) While also an accomplished academic, Blochmann’s scholarship and career has received comparatively little attention. This project hopes to recover her legacy as an intellectual leader who was in constant dialogue with the great minds of the 20th century.

(7/8) As a result, Blochmann is quite frequently cited in philosophical literature but only as the recipient of Heidegger’s letters or sounding board for his thoughts. This contrasts with her counterpart, Hannah Arendt, whose relationship with Heidegger is rarely mentioned.
