So many emotions this morning. The past nine months have been difficult, but this is a light at the end of the long tunnel of this pandemic. I’m happy to get the COVID vaccine to protect myself, to protect my patients, and protect all the people I care about.

Where in the body is the mental?
I know heart and lung and dental.
"Mental" is distracting-
It's the BRAIN that is reacting.
A healthy brain can be shown,
A healthy mental is unknown.
Now mental health should go away
So BRAIN health can be here to stay!

As long as we separate brains from the rest of the body's organs we will not achieve our goals. Where in the body is the "mental?" Please help promote the more appropriate name which is "BRAIN health" .

@DrBobBlock A good first step will be to adopt term “brain health” to help remove “mental” as a separate and not equal part of health. Where in the body is the mental? We know where the brain is!

@DrBobBlock @AmerAcadPeds JAMA Pediatrics article features children’s “mental health”. A serious problem indeed. But the brain is an organ in the body like any other - heart, liver, etc. let’s not separate the brain so it is ignored & underfunded. Replace mental with Brain Health

@DCDelMonte I agree. There must be a way to follow the amendment AS WRITTEN allowing gun ownership without sacrificing the lives of innocent children. We need to recognize “all adults once were children”. Our future as a nation relies on safe and encouraged children. Not on tragic deaths.
