Today should have been a joyous celebration for Abdinasir Muse Dahable's family as he graduated from Cranfield University.Instead,his widow, Dr. Suad Abdi and his two daughters collected his certificate because his life was tragically cut short, murdered for doing his job. 1/2

The Musuem represents everything that was lost in the destruction of our country and the attempt to erase Somaliland from the history books. We will no longer look to elders to learn about our heritage, we will have "Hoyga Taariikhda Qaranka Somaliland". 2/2

Today I had the honor to accompany H.E. President @musebiihi to the opening of the Somaliland National Musuem. A place for us to not only share our rich culture and heritage as Somalilanders but also showcase the centuries of history that Somaliland has in the Horn of Africa.1/2

As we mark 64 years of independence, it is vital to continue our efforts and stay united in our quest for international recognition. On this momentous occasion, I wish all Somalilanders a Happy Independence Day! (2/2)

Tomorrow, we celebrate the anniversary of Somaliland's independence from United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, achieved on June 26, 1960. Our determination and resilience allowed us to gain independence ahead of many East African nations.(1/2)
