I am begging folks: If a workshop is providing and asking folks to use a mic, please do not refuse to use the mic and ask "can everyone hear me without this?" Just use the mic. Being heard is not just about the volume but also about the clarity of being able to hear the words.

Another student is a professional seamstress, and she did research into how members of the Undergound Railroad may have used quilting patterns as messages - she is replicating some of these patterns into a quilt using scrap fabric to mimic what would have been available in war
