@MayorOfLA @CAgovernor @AmerMedicalAssn My colleagues and I in urgent care medicine have never stopped seeing sick patients since the pandemic. We are helping the testing effort, testing thousands of patients. We’re not part of a hospital system. Where is our vaccine? Shame.

@somedocs Sitting in Bio as a premed ,and the professor canceled class and told us. Walked outside the lecture hall and everyone was huddled together consoling each other. Drove back to NY the next day, crossed over the GWB and saw and smelled the smoke and burning. Will never forget it.

Last month, my son's daycare had a coronavirus outbreak. Another student in his class was positive. Then, my son vomited. I wanted to get him a COVID test. Even living in a big city with dozens of testing sites, it wasn't easy. A thread (1/11).

@somedocs I have mixed feelings SoMeDocs. I think you are trying to advocate for Docs and have a lot of posts and messages trying to “protect us”but then you are charging for membership? 179$. For a social media hashtag. Why? Aren’t you doing what you are posting against? Biz or advocate?

So many great responses tonight on vulnerability in medicine. It’s clear this is hard for doctors who are trained to always get it right. Learning to be vulnerable and teaching vulnerability takes all of us to make it ok.

A citywide curfew will be in place tonight to protect everyone’s safety and help first responders keep the peace. The curfew requires people in the City of L.A. to stay indoors between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Exceptions are for emergency responders and those going to and from work.
