It was amazing to brainstorm on a topic I’m so passionate about, followed by such a rewarding collaboration process led by our lead author @GoCarpediumDoc. Getting the Editor’s Choice Award is just the cherry on top! @WalkKD @TheBJPsych

@alexconnerbham @GoCarpediumDoc @WalkKD I must admit, the term 'domestic anxiety' is new to me. I wonder if this might be a kind of transition anxiety due to switching from structured (work) time to unstructured (home) time? Lots of people with ADHD find it challenging to switch contexts like this.

@GoCarpediumDoc @DrMericErden @WalkKD If I had a wish for the next one, it's a psychiatric explanation of "domestic anxiety". Most of the ADHD people I know (especially addicts) struggle at the 5-7pm sort of time when everyone else feels relaxed. I can't find it anywhere in the criteria but it is SO common with ADHD

I also note that the authors have written it in quite accessible language. Which usually means they know what they're talking about! The more confusing the paper, the worse the authors in my experience.

A GP here now replaced by a PA It means: 1) less appointments available (GPs can do 3-6x work of PAs) 2) worse outcomes due to far less clinical expertise 3) knock on impact to hospital nearby with more patients having to access due to delays in care 4) cost more to the tax payer overall (much more) Truly sad.
Neena Jha@DrNeenaJha

“We’re creating PAs to support NOT replace GPs” IS A COMPLETE LIE! The practice I locum in have now replaced me with a PA 😞 I’ve been a GP for 10 years & can’t get work?! My GP colleagues CANNOT GET work! We ARE being replaced, by significantly less qualified people?!

Tomorrow, junior doctors will strike. A full 72 hr walkout It isn’t the first time I have striked as a dr; I didn’t think there would be a second time post-2016, but here we are. I’m so glad and so proud ✊🏻 The decision wasn’t easy. However, it is the RIGHT one. Let us unite.

I’ll just leave this here & say again that I fully support the ‘junior’ doctors’ strike.

In 2009 I was paid £15/hr as a pool lifeguard. In 2023 I have a BSc, a masters, a medical degree, surgical postgrad exams and teach junior doctors. They pay me £19.10/hr before tax. Many operations don't take the full hour to complete. #JuniorDoctorsStrike

Here’s my payslip as a first year doctor in 2005, next to a first year doctor colleague’s in 2023. 18 years later, their take home salary is less than mine was. I lived for free in hospital accommodation and had a fraction of their student loan. #JuniorDoctorsStrike

The Government has left us with no option but to strike. Today thousands of us went to Whitehall and made it clear: We are not backing down. #JuniorDoctorsStrike
