Friend got some pretty shocking news from his Dr & was then handed a photocopy of a photocopy of a leaflet…surely we can do better than this. Create digital content, personalised information, direct referral to cancer charities - anything that feels more caring than a photocopy

It’s not exaggeration to say that it is totally normalised for certain colleagues to attempt to control when you eat, drink or piss. I can think of countless occasions. It’s only when you get out of that situation and reflect that you realise how f’d up the whole culture is.

And rightly so… the ivory tower virtue signalling lot genuinely ruined medicine in so so so many ways, and the debts they’ve incurred are about to come due.

4 years ago this month, I made a decision that I thought I would never have to make, but when it’s time to go, it’s time to go. I left my career in academic medicine - a career I had spent a decade building. I was undervalued, underappreciated and disrespected.

The only way it addresses retention is by ensuring that these medical qualifications will not be recognised outside the UK. This erosion in medical training will also be a threat to our world leading life science industry.

The NHS workforce plan appears to be a plan for a low cost, low skills NHS. Apprenticeships and a four year medical course will erode the quality of medical training. There is nowhere in the world where they have medical apprenticeships or four year medical course for undergraduates.

@UPS_UK hate doing this but you have my parcel. Waited in all day yesterday (I work from home) and then apparently you “need security access”. No indication as to how to provide this. Honestly the worst user experience I think I’ve ever come across for a delivery 😭
