Introducing.... ANCHOR ⚓ Our new support programme. Anchor is for parents/carers of young people aged 5-17 who have an ARFID diagnosis or are displaying ARFID behaviours. It’s a safe space – somewhere where parents/carers can go to talk about how they’re feeling.

Great to be @RCPCHtweets 2024 conference today & a joy to rep @BWC_NHS SEDS standing shoulder to shoulder with @thefeedingtrust showcasing our partnership, emerging pathway & sharing with Paediatricians nationwide our developing work with ARFID & Paediatric Feeding Disorder.

"Building organisational culture from the middle out". Having a positive culture predicts high performance. People often think that it is senior leaders who should define/articulate/role model a healthy culture & mid level leaders who should enact/endorse it. However research newly published in @MITsmr shows the critical role mid level leaders play in developing/enriching the culture. It's through exchanges that support work teams to accomplish their tasks & the practice of daily behaviours, in line with values. This is also highly relevant to eating disorders. People are fighting their biology. Poor response to treatment is not the result of a lack of motivation. We need to fight stigma together.

Why work in the area of eating disorders? 🧵I work in this area because I passionately believe people can recover. Every day, I have the privilege of seeing lives changed and transformed. I work in teams that build hope, who strive to understand and empower those they work with.
