Have you read our Parent's Guide to ARFID guide yet? It's full of useful information about ARFID, as well as the skills and activities which we work through in sessions and how they can be used at home. Check it out here: firststepsed.co.uk/a-parents-guid… #ARFID #CaringforCarers

Introducing.... ANCHOR ⚓ Our new support programme. Anchor is for parents/carers of young people aged 5-17 who have an ARFID diagnosis or are displaying ARFID behaviours. It’s a safe space – somewhere where parents/carers can go to talk about how they’re feeling.

(1/6) In line with Eating Disorders Awareness Week, we asked Sarah, an individual with lived experience, to answer a few questions relating to her experience with ARFID. Firstly, what's it like to have ARFID? #EDAW

"Building organisational culture from the middle out". Having a positive culture predicts high performance. People often think that it is senior leaders who should define/articulate/role model a healthy culture & mid level leaders who should enact/endorse it. However research newly published in @MITsmr shows the critical role mid level leaders play in developing/enriching the culture. It's through exchanges that support work teams to accomplish their tasks & the practice of daily behaviours, in line with values. It's great to see research that spotlights the contribution of middle managers: sloanreview.mit.edu/article/buildi…. I teamed this article with a graphic by @GapingvoidArt

Really enjoyed this #LEDC2024 talk by @DrSheryllin about the need to be *truly* inclusive by design (incl. having cultural humility). Conversations about class & EDs also something we’ve been considering in our own work - great to hear it mentioned in the wider conversation 🙌🏼

Such engaging discussion from @DrSheryllin on cultural humility🥧 My take home = vital to adapt established formulation models in psychotherapies to be culturally inclusive. Are we curious enough about cultural&race related experience ?@LondonEDConf

Why work in the area of eating disorders? 🧵I work in this area because I passionately believe people can recover. Every day, I have the privilege of seeing lives changed and transformed. I work in teams that build hope, who strive to understand and empower those they work with.
