@OwenSparks 🎯 Spot on! This is the key observation: SLS exists only as a jobs and talent retention program. I think the key for @rookisaacman is to preserve the best and brightest by shifting them towards Starship and Starship-aligned missions.

@DrStarson Yes, it's a delicate balance for NASA. SLS is obviously just a jobs program at this point, you have to get congress to support funding and the only way that happens is if they keep the jobs in their districts. A temporary strain to get us back to the Moon.

NEWS: Tiny SpaceX rocks Boeing Starship will now boost Orion and the Artemis crew to the Moon rather than Boeing's SLS.

NEWS: NASA is planning a bigger @SpaceX Moon mission role using Starship, in a massive blow to Boeing. With the new proposal, Boeing's SLS would no longer be used to boost Orion close to the moon. Instead, Starship and Orion would dock in Earth orbit, giving Starship the pivotal role of propelling the capsule to the moon’s orbit, before taking astronauts down to the surface. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Very quickly everyone will realize that there is no need for Orion in this image. Starship will do the job. The only right move is to fully align with the Starship program

Palantir CTO @ssankar says former casino workers in Sparks, Nevada, have reskilled into advanced manufacturing jobs at Panasonic Energy, supplying the Tesla Gigafactory: “It used to take three years of apprenticeship to learn how to be a battery technician. With AI, it now takes three months.”
