A huge step for regenerative medicine 🧬 Creating a bioengineered kidney that can survive transplantation and start producing urine is more than a lab milestone… it’s proof that functional organ engineering is becoming reality. If this progresses successfully in humans, it could transform the future of dialysis and organ transplant waiting lists forever. 🚑

@forallcurious This blew my mind Lab-grown mini-kidneys that actually work post-transplant? They filter blood and pee in mouse models! We're getting closer to solving the organ shortage crisis

@forallcurious Joseph Murray's first kidney transplant in Boston, 1954 only worked because the donor was an identical twin - sole way to dodge rejection. Now someone's building them from scratch. That's a 72-year arc.

@forallcurious Isso é simplesmente revolucionário! A medicina regenerativa dando passos gigantescos. Imagina o impacto disso na fila de transplantes e na vida de quem depende de hemodiálise. Viva a ciência! 🧬👏
