Every so often in clinical practice, you see a patient who reminds you why you sacrificed so much to study medicine. I saw my most recent reminder a week ago in clinic Such positive moments are rare in medicine & it's important to be grateful when these moments come around!

@clifford0584 Full disclosure, & I didn't mention during the episode; ED clinician did return to discuss the case, we agreed we were not thrombolysing&had time to invx, ED was busy & pt clearly needed admission so I agreed to see directly to allow them to run ED. "Handed off" with consent!

All EM registrars and consultants should listen to this and reflect on whether this should be happening in our resuscitation areas ie essentially just handing off a patient to medicine without really figuring out what’s going on & doing the initial resuscitation

Proud to present our poster reporting sudden cardiac arrest rates in non-elite, competitive footballers & clubs' capacity to respond to SCA at #HRC2023. This fills a gap in literature where this cohort of competitive, non-elite clubs and players have not been studied in the UK.
