Current evidence tells us that being overweight is a risk factor for breast cancer. So fat cells in the breast are bad, right? Maybe not. New research suggests it's more complicated than that. Dr Sandy Minck explains.... informd.org.au/research/can-h…

A big win for South Australian women today! We're the first state in Australia to report all categories of breast density to all women attending BreastScreen. Such important information for women to know so they can make the best choices for their breast health.

South Australian women going for a mammogram will soon become the first in the nation to also be able to learn their breast density. Density can mask signs of cancer and knowing where they stand can lessen the risk of women suffering serious disease. @samanthah0gan #9News

Dr Sandy Minck says that preventing stress and anxiety is not a valid reason to deny women information regarding their breast density. ausdoc.com.au/news/we-cant-k…

It's time to give women all the information they need about their #breastcancer risk so they can make informed, shared decisions about appropriate screening that is best for them. #densebreasts #breastdensity

Breast density reporting was recently mandated in the US. However, in Australia it is only routinely reported in Western Australia and a GP who recently underwent a risk-reducing mastectomy thinks this should change. bit.ly/3M8RJsf

I flunked my mammogram. What happened next will SHOCK you* 👇abc.net.au/news/2023-03-2… @BCTrialsANZ *sorry, always wanted to write a clickbait headline. And given that I've just filed 1500 words about my own rack, this seemed like the time.

"Higher than average mammographic #breastdensity is associated with an increased risk of #breastcancer." Can we please start measuring, recording and notifying #breastdensity in all #BreastScreen jurisdictions.

Not all women can tolerate or access screening MRI, financial barriers reduce equity. Contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) better tolerated, lower cost, becoming a good alternative. Ultrasound if contrast-enhanced methods not available. @BCRFcure @PBCC @DenseBreastInfo
