Episode 3 of Re:Zero S3 was FREAKING INCREDIBLE. I won't even post any highlights because I don't want to spoil it. Holy shit, the nostalgia of this episode from the Light Novel + the incredible adaptation and God-like Voice Acting. Re:Zero is on another level.

The whole lore part just means that yes he was written with the idea of being a Mary Sue type. He's depicted as being basically perfect in the anime. Checks every box except female. Idk other guy

According to your framing, Satoru is a Mary Sue since he inherited his power from his bloodline as well.

@DragonMJE @dyingscribe There's a character in Tanya the Evil literally called Mary Sue playing the stereotype. She's had 2 major encounters and lost both. Mary Sue is about insane power and little effort to obtain it. He inherited power and has and has a blade for worthy opponents.

@DragonMJE @dyingscribe Like I said in the anime so far the only type of potential struggle so far has been some family issues. Which pretty much every single important character in the show has. He might get something interesting in the LN or later but up to this point it's been pretty barren

There is an actual purpose for them being absurdly strong, and in Reinhard's case, his power is tied to the Lore and Narrative of Re:Zero. He didn't just show up and start winning everything when he shouldn't

@Desolate_Will Zhongli talks about the Archon Wars very often in both his Story Quests and in yearly Events. The meme is just ass tbh. Gurabad still has more lore than the War of Funerary Flame at the moment. Though I am certain that will change later.
