@lilykeilani011 Expect heat higher than habanero. Most C. Chinense are at least that hot, but I believe this variety is a super hot with ghost pepper as an example. Like my other post, I recommend other species. While other species can get hot, there are good sweet and mild options.

This is my Red Gum x Chocolate Naga pepper plant. I don’t know much about this plant. It should be extremely spicy. The foliage is green with purple veins and blushing. The hound stems are purple, and age to green with purple stripes and blushing.

@lilykeilani011 Chocolate peppers in other species, like C. Annum, C. Baccatum, and C. Pubescens, can be quite delicious and are much less hit or miss.

@lilykeilani011 Indeed. Chocolate peppers in the C. Chinense species are typically smoky and/or earthy and can have either a pleasant, soapy, or overpowering floral flavor on top as well. Sometimes they’re sweet and delicious or can taste like meat.

I usually prefer reds to chocolates when it comes to the Capsicum Chinense varieties flavors. Sometimes the chocolate flavors can be unique or even more tasty though. Just depends on the isolated pics from the breeders. I’ll post more updates as the peppers grow and produce.

I kind of hope for visual effect, that the pods won’t be chocolate ion this one, but if they are, they should at least be hotter. I hope the flavor is good too.
