Head crest is most likely mean for slime mold storage and sexual display, no armor on belly because slime mold doesn’t detonate right away giving him time to clear the blast area. Mh3u ecology shows him punching agnaktor and it doesn’t phase him until the slime blows up.

The head crest looks so dumb and makes no sense with how it supposedly hunts. Theres also just a bunch of little things like the lack of armor on the belly where it would be needed most and slime mold seeming kinda unnecessary when they already have massive hammer fists

It’s not your expression, it’s a machine given words that it uses to create a consensus of how other people have expressed it. Expression is your voice, not the voices of others serrated and dragged through a machine made to mimic your mouth. You express nothing, you forfeit your voice to allow the rest of humanity to speak for you. Here, you even say the ultimate goal is the erasure of human voices. Your “expression” leads to a lack of humanity, not a furtherance of it. Every iteration and invention of art has found new ways to allow us to culminate the human experience through sensation, but generative AI is cancer, it’s the cells of what we’ve already built spinning ad nauseam until all we “make” is what others have already made. It’s a dead end and lifeless, and goes against whatever spirit, soul, or God gave us the gift of creation in the first place.

@drxavie60848658 As a staunch defender of underwater combat back on the forums this is definitely the same vibes. Hell I remember when people returned to bash on Tri and underwater when 4 and p3rd didn’t have it.

I mean every MH Game tries to mix up combat to some degree so saying Focus Mode "takes away from combat" is no diffrent to peoples mixed reactions to Wirebugs, Underwater, etc. Its not gonna stay forever like some doomers think it will its just this game's "thing".

@Fw_Parkr The main strat I use is to put 2 'heavy artillery 1' decos on my temp mantle and use the roaming ballista as soon as the phase 2 transition is done. If you hit the tenderized chest enough, while Fatalis is on the floor, it'll topple. Hide in smoke bombs to make it stop flying.

Did you guys know that if you hit Fatalis with 10 cannon balls with the skill that increases cannon damage by 100%, you can get an instant topple? we just figured that out lmao

I really think if we ever get something like this it’s gonna be with AT monsters. Like imagine if AT Rey dau have a charge mechanic to attacks to mimic the fulgerite or uth granting you a shield for rolling around, nu udra giving you something similar to hellfire aura

I wish to see Wilds improvise with some skills a bit more. Give us skills that make successful power clashes do more, like cause a full topple. A skill where if you hold focus mode for a while before an attack without doing anything, you get a big attack boost for a few moments. Similar to the rellana talisman in Elden Ring. Have a skill that adds multiple options following a power clash, choose to do a big hit, bind the monster down for a moment, fire a slinger pod following a win, let there be more versatility, kinda like offsets.

Clutch claw and Wyvern riding are much worse though. Focus aiming is training wheels for new players and Novices that still has a high skill ceiling for many weapons WR and CC ruined monster AI and disrupt combat massively and in Claws case ruined what was the best combat in MH

I am mixed one hand it weakened one of MH's most key parts of its gameplay identity in focus aiming the other. it lets monsters be as Flowing and fast and fun and huge as possible so... which make for some of the best hunts ever good and bad here but im leaning slightly on bad
