"The first 90% of coding accounts for the first 90% of development time. The remaining 10% of coding accounts for the other 90% of development time." 😂
- So true!
It's pretty amazing what one solo developer can do with AI assistance!
In just 52 days, I've developed the code for an entire game using ~80 scripts that has menus, 4 selectable characters, 3 completed levels (I can make unlimited now!), collectibles, destructibles, interactables, environmentals, weather, lighting, 7 dynamically updated languages, a music and sound effect system, loot crates, traps, enemies, and dynamically built levels that are fully configurable using Json files! Everything was built to be easily expandable.
The only thing slowing me down now is the polishing phase! That's the last 10% 😆

Well, I finally settled on some character for my game.
It's a top-down game, so developing characters that look good from the top-down angle is extremely hard. But I have this new method where I just cut the head, arms and feet out and stack them on top of each other! And now, the animation sprite sheet is extremely small!
(These are still unpolished characters for my game)

I'm getting close to showing off some screenshots of my new dungeon crawler game!
It's still in super early alpha.
Most of the existing graphics are placeholders (or 'hooks' as we call them) until I have time to improve them. I may need to find a good artist eventually.
For now, strengthening the existing code and adding features is more important than improving the visual appeal of the game. And it's also where I do my best work.

@yingwu276386 I'm having soo much trouble animating a top-down character to look good. Nicely done here!

Current strategy:
run around screaming while the defense towers solve the problem for me 🐔

@NemraV1 Your game is looking great!
Building out dev tools is the key to fast iteration! Nicely done!
I'm about to develop a level designer for my game. It's going to be a huge endeavor, but it'll make developing 50-100 levels much faster than the time it'll take to develop the tool!

@NemraV1 WOW! I'm about to add water to my game. I hope I can figure out how to make water look this good! 👍

@MarioNawfal @nikitabier This video was stolen from my YouTube channel, but X is crediting another user because they uploaded it to this app, not me, so not only do I not get any revenue for my own YouTube video being posted here, but X is crediting the wrong account as the creator. Pathetic.

@NarrisBunnies "it's hard to communicate the topic honestly" - I totally get that. It's almost like you have to explain the entire thing just to make one thing make sense.
English

Hmm. I do have a bunch to say on it but it's hard to communicate the topic honestly till I'm at a certain point. But its where one core, lead to many other things that need to be fully planned then all relevant sub sections explained to the degree others can work with it. This essentially ends up being a buncha paperwork other stuff gets written from. Then it's built and tested before acted on further with more paperwork. It's tedious and time consuming for very little end product people actually experience over the span of years. It's not exciting at all more stressful with no celebration spots just the next step till there will be no more.

@RobSchneider Hi Rob!
This is definitely off topic. But I just watched Big Stan for the first time and it was hilarious!
I don't know how I missed that one. It reminded me of the good old days when comedy movies were funny! 😆👍
Thanks for the laughs!
