I guess the sundial can be counted as the 12. It looks like the chain is made of 13 links, counting the 1 in the sundial. I reckon her garb represents space. The hair I'm not sure of yet. There are 3 visible ends of both her hair and her cloak, so I see a link there.

Oh, ok. There are also even numbered elements. Two eyes of fire, 4 for the corner designs, 6 for the number of odd numbered elements (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11) also the spine sections, 8 for the spokes in the gears and holes in death's hip? (1 assumed hidden), 10 fingers... no 12?
