Oh my just watched Matilda on Netflix and I am uncontrollably sobbing. Wow! They really did that!! This is how a movie musical should be done. BRAVO!!

I cannot tell you the messages of support I have received for actually re establishing the policy of printing the full range of ticket prices on an advert #knowwhatyouarepaying

@deanjohnsonuk It’s a natural evolution that, as the source material used to be books, the source materials move to movies which are easier to fit into 2 hours (as most already do). But there gets to become a snobbery about what is considered “art” whereas it’s about entertainment

@deanjohnsonuk Completely agree. Theatre has to be commercial to survive. If you like something then surely that makes it commercial. It should be full of things people love. And that’s what builds an audience.

A lot is said about movie adaptations to musicals, and how many wish there were more literary adaptations/original stories. Something not often discussed in this is how film companies lock down all adaptation rights when they option books to movies.

1991! A fun year with interesting styles. And a friendly reminder, the intention is to vote for the artwork, not the show itself but you do you boo. Poll in the attached tweet.

@ATDazzles “Family” shows need the most consideration with pricing. If you expect couples and groups of friends (eg Moulin Rouge) then you can charge more than if you expect someone paying for a family of four (eg Frozen) because the individual’s cost is much higher

@ATDazzles That is horrible to see (although I did be fit from that with Waitress). They build in expected discounts in pricing but often they need bigger discounts because of the level of the price

The character in & Juliet being named “May” is the perfect comedic long game setup/eventual punchline and no one sees it coming until it’s too late, which makes it funnier.

@Casey_Mink I lived the Netflix recording although it needed a live audience, it would played up the jokes more

@BobGeor27574923 What if King Charles refuses to accept it? I think it's been a while since a monarch refused to give royal assent to a bill, and I don't know if they actually can refuse, but it's an option...
