Yancheng's coastal wetlands cover 291,300 hectares, housing two national nature reserves: Yancheng Rare Birds & Dafeng Milu. Red-crowned crane, globally endangered, finds refuge here. Also, 70% of milu deer, once near extinction.

Ontvangst in de Dollard van Chinese delegatie uit Yancheng die bezoek brengt aan Werelderfgoed Waddenzee. Deze stad (7 mln inwoners) ligt aan de Gele Zee, eveneens Werelderfgoed en cruciaal voor de oostelijke flyway van trekvogels. Erg belangrijk deze internationale uitwisseling!

The 9th survey, in 2 months, team of Hebo Peng @GlobalFlyway visited 40 sites, sampling macrobenthos, Spartina, eDNA, pollutants & foraging shorebirds. More than 50% of sites show clear downward trends from 2015, only 20% show upward trends. Shorebirds remain under pressure!
