Last week 10 black-tailed godwits were equipped with GPS trackers as part of @Veenvitaal, a unique interdisciplinary #NWA project led by @ALIFE_VU professor Matty Berg. Make peat meadows futureproof and protect biodiversity! @NWONieuws @VUamsterdam vu.nl/en/news/2023/l…

It is fewer than 2 weeks to PhD thesis defence of @DrewBingrun at @univgroningen. The defence can be followed online, his thesis accessed online too. Black-tailed #godwits have yielded a few more of their many secrets through his biometric, genetic, tracking & ecological work.

#ByTheNumbers $3B in 10 years 50 million migratory birds 200 million people More on the importance of the identification of wetland priority sites to the Regional Flyway Initiative events.development.asia/learning-event… @EAAFP @BirdLife_News @BirdLife_Asia @DevelopmentAsia @ADB_HQ

The 9th survey, in 2 months, team of Hebo Peng @GlobalFlyway visited 40 sites, sampling macrobenthos, Spartina, eDNA, pollutants & foraging shorebirds. More than 50% of sites show clear downward trends from 2015, only 20% show upward trends. Shorebirds remain under pressure!

@BirdLife_CEO inspiring audiences at @COP27 with the ways that birds bring us together! 🐦🕊🦅🦜💚 Sharing BirdLife’s pioneering work with the @ADB_HQ on the East-Asian Australasian Flyway - soon to be scaled up in the Americas for #climate and #nature 🌏🌎
