Financial forward crude markets continue to expect some resolution to the war. Physical markets have to trade today's reality and are starting to explode higher. Most relevent and cited is spot brent vs financial brent blowing out >$40/bbl, but even closer to home Canadian condensate spreads are blowing out $10/bbl. Resolved war or not, Q2 will have a slew of realization deltas that generally are rewarding producers, punishing consumers, and presenting career trades (ending or making) for marketers and traders.

The Qatar strike immediately repriced 27/28 LNG prices. We saw some partial credit for that in LNG price exposed equities. It also immediately repriced the value of natural gas resource in nations with low geopolitical risk (Canada / US). We haven’t seen that valued at all in the equities yet. Do we have to wait to see resource change hands? Or will an onslaught of project FIDs do the trick.

Got my favorite oil S&D chart pack from @Rory_Johnston and realized that like negative WTI price in covid, so many beautiful long term oil charts are going to be broken with y axis blow outs next month. Getting excited about a 0.3 mmbpd imbalance will feel forever hollow.

The Week Ahead in Technology for the week of March 9, 2026. $ORCL is the most important enterprise tech earnings print this week. $500B+ in remaining performance obligations is a staggering number, but RPO without revenue acceleration is just a backlog problem. This quarter tells us which one Oracle has. $HPE gets its first real Juniper integration test. $ADBE has to prove Firefly is a revenue engine, not a demo. $PATH, $RBRK, and $S complete a loaded slate. Meanwhile, @Apple reviews are hitting all week after 7 product drops. The $599 MacBook Neo is the most interesting product Apple has shipped in years. I am speaking at the @DellTech Federal Symposium in DC this week. @sxsw kicks off its 40th year in Austin. Embedded World opens in Nuremberg for edge AI and RISC-V. And @nvidia GTC is next week. Is the $599 MacBook Neo the start of a real price war in laptops, or a one-off from Apple?
